Justin Jefferson just inked a 4-year deal, $140m with $110m guaranteed... proving again that it's wiser to set the market than move the market

Yes, Howie is a genius.  He drafted Jalen Reagor so that he’d never have to pay Justin Jefferson and move the market.

Cheap shot that doesn't address the original thought. Show me a GM who hasn't blown a pick.

Well, you can't argue with the graphic. I mean you just outright can't. Bet the Cowboys are pissed about Ceedee Lamb now. LOL

I think he’s the only GM who would’ve blown that pick. Who on earth would take Reagor over Jefferson? Minnesota was literally laughing at the Reagor pick.

We were so desperate to add a speedy WR, Howie made the mistake of prioritizing the wrong attributes. I believe he envisioned Reagor as the next Tyreek Hill.

All I can say is that however Reagor answered questions on his psych evaluation should now be automatic red flags on any prospect in the future. The physical abilities are all there, but the mental fortitude was severely lacking.

In hindsight, no receiver should have gone ahead of Jefferson and that includes Lamb. Too many teams devalued Jefferson just because he played mostly slot in his final year.

Howie does it again! 😊

Howie has always done a great job on the contract side, extending their own players early to beat the market and giving players deals that are very fair for both sides. The players continue to sign extensions here and are happy.

That clusterflub was a blessing in disguise.

And Jefferson has won exactly what?

Howie got a Super Bowl and went back.

F'ed up thing is that Reagor wasn't even that fast, let alone Tyreek Hill fast. Heck, Jefferson ran a faster 40.

It was just an unforgivable pick and possibly the lowest point of Howie's career.

Jefferson is only a top 3 WR in the league. Reagor is lucky to have a job.

Reagor ran a 4.22 and 4.28 at his pro day after losing the extra weight he had at the combine.

Pro day numbers are fudged to the limit.

He's had a few really bad picks (in rd 1) ... Watkins, Dillard, Marcus Smith ... but I do think Reagor is the worst of them all.  It was a no brainer to take Jefferson there (comment based on talent alone ... not taking into account the recent contract).

Most people don't even realize the real blessing. The real blessing is that it injured Howie's ego enough for him to completely redefine how he drafts players. It's probably not incorrect to say that he's an elite GM because missing out on Jefferson hurt him so badly. He talked about that pick really bothering him on New Heights, I think.

He's also the only GM who drafted Jordan Mailata.

There is a world we’re Howie signed all three of these receivers to the Eagles under the same guaranteed money if he just picked Jefferson instead of that other guy.

ok - this topic has shown there are Howie hater out there. No matter what he does, did, or will do right they will keep parping on  what he's done wrong.

They'll consciously avoid comparing the good withthe bad.

Sad

The majority of the replies have been positive. You just have issues.

Why does it have to be one way or the other? Why can’t Howie be both? He is a master at manipulating the draft board and collecting assets. He is a master at manipulation the cap. He’s also a guy who has made questionable free agent signing and draft selections. He has ups and downs. He’s both.

I agree his "drag" selections have been suspect lol
