September 29, 20241 yr The Eagles made all kinds of off season moves, and the next RIGHT move, since they have tried almost everything, is to fire Siri at the bye. It's the next move the Eagles have to make. The Eagles are NEVER prepared to play 60 minutes of football. It's the right thing to do and the only move that will have impact. It also sends a message to EVERYONE on the team- be ready to play every damn game, or sheeeiiit is going to hit the fan. I'm not listening to all you excuse makers on that are on here here- Siri has to go and a message has to be sent. I'm talking to those on this forum who have common Fin sense.

The Eagles will never do it. Still haven’t scored a first quarter point. Starting off slow what’s going on with the scripted 15? I thought this Moore guy was supposed to be a genius.
September 29, 20241 yr Lurie won't fire Siri unless they have a losing season and he loses the locker room. Some of the players still stick up for him. Siri would blame injuries and point to his overall win/loss record here. It would take another collapse/losing season and the players to turn on him.

September 29, 20241 yr Doesn’t call defense, offense, or special teams and the team is never prepared for the game. What does he do exactly again???

September 29, 20241 yr He’s gotta be on the hot seat now. He’s what 3-10 in his last 13 games or something.

Sometimes a move like that lights a fire under everyone. Question is who becomes head coach? Moore? Fangio? Someone else?

September 29, 20241 yr I don't disagree with the criticism towards Sirianni and barring some miracle turnaround I think this will be his last season with the team. It would take a playoff win at this juncture IMO to justify keeping him. Missing the playoffs or losing in the WC game again is not acceptable with the talent this roster has. I can't see Jeffrey Lurie making a move like this, he usually gives his HC the whole regular season to finish with the exception of Chip Kelly (but that also involved his alienation of players and failing as a GM too more than just poor product on the field). Kellen Moore was once upon a time considered a young coach on the rise with HC potential, so I can see the appeal here of making him the interim HC from a strategic standpoint. Fangio could also make sense but he's obviously less of a long term candidate given his age. If the team turns it around you have your next HC in-house, if not you have the information you need to move on and get your external candidate. However, consider the optics of this proposal. Firing a coach who has taken his team to the playoffs in each of his seasons with the team, including a SB appearance, looks bad on the surface, even if us fans watch the games and see the team looking unprepared to play. This could dissuade quality external candidates from wanting the job and labeling the Eagles job as a toxic environment. Not an easy decision to make by any means.

I'd give Moore the rest of the season as a trial run. 13 games should be a decent sample size to see what the trajectory of the team is under his leadership.
September 29, 20241 yr They're not going to fire him this early in the season, so you might as well just suck it up and forget it. Especially with the amount of injuries to key players that he's dealing with. Fire him now, and Howie/Lurie would instantly become pariahs among the coaching community. It's not gonna happen. Ride out the season and go all out for Ben Johnson. He was able to breathe new life into Jared Goff. Maybe he can do the same for Hurts.
September 30, 20241 yr With and without Lane. Now add in no AJ no Smith and that's just to start the game. Yea he has excuses. Easy to defend when you only need to defend 3 people. Barkley, Goedert and not let Hurts run. Aside from BG, our dline is trash. Who would have thought our LBs were actually the strength of the D?
September 30, 20241 yr Author I'm getting Rich Kotite vibes with the Eagles and Siri. Super talented roster, but the coach lost the locker room. That skid last year reeked of the '94 Eagles after Richie publicly lobbied for an extension. I'm usually pro head coach. Was always against the calls to fire Reid. Gave Kelly the benefit of the doubt when most didn't. Wanted things to stay the course with Pederson. But this guy Siri seems like he so far in over his head. He was hired during a year when teams were going on a coaching youth movement. But I didn't see how his actual qualifications warranted the hire then, and I don't see it now. Like Richie K whose best move was hiring Bud Carson, Siri's best moves were to bring in Steichen and Gannon. And he was exposed as a fraud once they left.
