You can bring in Frank Reich tomorrow and things could change a bit.

But, you can't change Hurts.

This team has the injury bug, penalty bug, and a lack of will to compete.

Frank Reich stinks. So does Hurts.

Just a tidbit here on why this guy is a bad coach. Here they knew for a week that Covey couldn’t play and yet they stuck DeJean out there looking like he had no clue at all. I mean did they actually practice and prepare? The issues with this team since Sirianni has been here has been lacking in basic fundamentals in the game. The penalties, the lack of tackling, simply protecting the football. If this guy isn’t calling the offensive or defensive plays then at least he should have his teams ready to play in the games. He’s not a good head coach.

Clock has probably started on Siri going forward.  Kinda like the end of last year, the team didn't always compete hard on Sunday.  That's a no-no in Philly.  Add that to the coaching snafus earlier this season that cost us a game and Lurie can't be happy.  He is a very patient guy though and will give Siri time.  But if this thing spirals out of control again like last year, he may have no choice, even in-season.

There is a long list of complaints about this team. Fans complain in game and all week. And it all points to coaching. Preparation, slow starts in games for several years, fundamentals, tackling drills in practice, not playing starters in preseason, play design/scheme, no adjustments to what the other teams are doing, poor utilization of players, etc.

Hurts has his issues. If he were playing better he would cover up for the coach's mistakes. But the biggest issue with the team is coaching in various aspects, and it starts at the top. Both coordinators are also responsible. The roster has the talent to win. Siri isn't the guy.

The win in week one covered up coaching deficiencies. The loss in week two highlighted those deficiencies. They were a Saquon routine catch away from getting away with it. The win in week three didn’t really cover it up but a win cures a lot of ails. The loss this week once again shows we have a dud HC. He’s a joke a clown and he’s got to go.

Who is to blame for this?  Is it Siri? Or Howie by neutering him with forced coordinators?  Or is it Lurie for falling in love with a QB with a low ceiling?  It's such a mess.

If Hurts turnovers have a problem why not design plays for him that are less TO-prone?

ie quick easy short passes? Dump-offs?

This team has enough weapons and good enough Oline that the QB doesn't have to do much but be a statue and throw quickly to the weapons.

He's not Mahomes, why try to play him like he is?

Make the call Howie.  I know one star receiver for the Eagles who will be on board with this.

All the above.

You are misunderstanding the function of head coach. Our head coach clearly stated that his job is to manage the whole team...Hug with the guys, give high fives, and water the flowers. It is the coordinator jobs to teach and train. Also DeJean is a rookie..who missed entire camp...Perhaps he missed catch the football video. We can not be so judgmental on the future of this franchise. LOL.

What has this guy done as a head coach that convinces you he’s the answer when everywhere he’s gone so far he has failed?

Anyone know what Nick Saban is doing these days ?

He couldn't deal with Miami.  No way this guy is coming to Philly.

You think his tenure with the Titans was a failure?  How so?

First Take:

Teddy Bruschi made this comment: Siri didn't have to lead in the SB season as much because the coordinators ran things and he had veteran players that led the players. Kelce and Cox are gone. Lane is injured.

In my opinion, Lane and BG aren't "leaders" in the traditional sense. BG is vocal, hypes guys up and talks trash. He's not the guy like Dawkins to get in guys faces to hold them accountable. Malcolm Jenkins was a leader intellectually, understanding the game and coaching other players. I think these guys lead in how they conduct themselves, prepare, execute plays and all of that because they are great players. They lead by example, but I'm not sure they are leading other players by holding them accountable as much. Lane is quieter as well. Mailata, Dickerson, even the rest of the O line all play well and are high character guys, but they're also led by Stoutland.

Shay also makes the point that great coaches lose coordinators and still win because they are good coaches with a plan and schemes. Siri has had all these different coordinators and it isn't working. It's him.

1-6 + 2-2 = 3-8. What am I missing?

Siri talks about culture, values, "the standard," collaboration and all that. Meanwhile:

  • After a loss, Slay posts his resume on social media to say look at me, I'm a good player
  • Slay also mocked CJGJ on a podcast with rival Cowboys player Micah Parsons, CJGJ reacts on his IG with "damn..."
  • Rodgers making a fool of himself on social media
  • Hurts clearly frustrated, saying "we have our moments" when asked if he game plans with his Head Coach
  • Fangio said he wasn't even informed that his starting safety Blankenship had an illness heading into the game
  • I still go back to Smitty getting that hit, and no one did a Jason Peters to defend him or step up to the guy who did it.
  • The defense is tackling like a pop warner team out there
  • Down 2 star WRs and you don't feed your star RB is absolutely insane and inexcusable

We can debate each individual thing all day. Everything points to Siri. He's been the captain of a sinking ship for 2 seasons now and doesn't do anything to fix the problems.

That's been my point.  Many of those losses toward the end of Kotite's time in Philly were weird unbelievable losses that were snatched from the jaws of victory very much like that loss against Atlanta.

Here we are only four weeks into the season and BG has already called a players only meeting. This team is in trouble.

Yup, i dont know to many teams in all 4 major sports that players only meetings have turned seasons around. Im sure there are examples of it turning a season around but, in this case im not so sure.
