October 13, 2024Oct 13 Did he go for the shaved head look to see if he could get any brain cells firing?

I would imagine Sirianni was involved with both decisions. Until this draft, we haven't even drafted a WR since Smith. Brown has had his 2 best seasons as an Eagle. Smith played very well as a rookie and has improved each season. Even before Brown was acquired, Quez played opposite Smith on the outside and was actually very good. But what about WR3 or the slot receiver on this team? I think we all want more production there. But the way the Eagles have utilized the slot receiver the last 3 seasons has more to do with the lack of production than the players we have used. JJAW was asked to be a blocker and to create picks. Reagor and Watkins were asked to stretch the field . As the primary slot receivers, we know they just weren't part of plan in regard to touches. They had roles, but how many times did Sirianni have to state that the passing game simply went through Smith, Brown and Goedert? Well JJAW and Reagor didn't ever live up to their draft status as WRs so it's fair to wonder why Sirianni didn't bring out the best in those guys. I kind of feel like they had the Na Brown syndrome where they were productive as pass catchers in practice, but once the pressure of a real NFL game was on, they choked. Quez, on the other hand, was a late round draft pick that impressed on the outside his 2nd year. But he wasn't a good fit in the slot. Quez made a few mistakes, and of course people have exaggerated them. He entered 2023 with only 6 career regular season drops and finished 2023 with 6 career drops and still only had 1 career fumble. At the end of the regular season, he had to fill in for Smith and played on the outside and was once again productive. I think it would be foolish for another team to play him inside. I think Sirianni needs to change his philosophy a bit and make sure everybody (WR, TE, RB) that takes snaps with the starters in games is also a viable target option on passing plays. I still want to feature our top guys for sure, but teams shouldn't make covering the WR3 on a play is a low priority because at most that position will see 3 targets a game (usually less). I don't care if one guy stands out and wins the role or if it's a platoon, but they need to run routes and expect to be thrown to. That will make things a lot harder for opposing defenses. The bottom line is Sirianni needs to learn from mistakes like everybody else and to also learn from success. Sirianni probably learned things from Steichen, but Johnson was an in-house-promotion that probably didn't have anything new to teach Nick. Moore is here now and if the offense thrives, Nick has to learn from it and be willing to apply the things he learned moving forward even if we eventually have to replace Moore. I just think it's weird to claim Sirianni adds nothing when overall, his background area of specialty has been a consistent positive each season. cool story bro
October 13, 2024Oct 13 He’s going to see out the year because unfortunately this team is going to win enough games to be in contention. And I say sadly because this team has nothing to bring to the playoffs.
October 13, 2024Oct 13 He's an immature clown who has no business being an NFL HC. He's an embarrassment.

An ugly home win coming off a bye against an equally disfunctional Browns team isn't gonna fix anything.

There's no doubt they will fall apart, but the overall NFC and NFCE isn't great either, so it's going to be awhile before they're mathematically eliminated. Remember in 2020, we only won 4 games, but the division was so bad, we weren't eliminated until 2 or 3 weeks before the end of the season.

No, it’s definitely not all on Siri, but he’s an important figure, and mainly, this team just doesn’t look prepared. The inconsistent play of the QB plays a part. The inconsistency of the defense plays a part. The last two also has a reflection on Howie not doing enough. It’s definitely not just Siri.

I'm just reading a lot of stuff across different platforms and thinking about how we like to consider ourselves an intelligent phanbase, and I'm just not seeing it lately. I wish people were a little more discerning in their judgments.

That’s a bad performance with an unconvincing victory. But they play a lot of Browns type teams. Carolina, NY, Jacksonville, Cincinnati aren’t very good right now… Dallas are a mess (though I won’t believe we can beat them until I see it).

Let alone, start a commentary/argument. my answer is, there is not one, he would never do it.
October 14, 2024Oct 14 Author The last time I felt this way about a head coach was Ray Rhodes in his final year - when the writing was on the wall. Before that, kotite. Siri wasn't hired because of his record. He never worked with any great QB's. He was hired in the year of the youth movement when most of the head coaches hired during that era have already been fired. I do credit Siri for bringing in good coordinators, but look how he was exposed when they left. He brings nothing of significant value to the table and doesn't merit retention IMHO. Eagles can do better.
October 14, 2024Oct 14 Meant to click after this season but that also depends on the outcome of the season. He's not getting fired after getting a winning record
