Despite the lack of people coming into the thread to eat their rightful share of crow, it's nice that there's a list of names and dates of who's owed a cut right on the thread. I love old style bulletin software!

I’ll put my hands up! I’ve called for his head at times. I did it after the Bucs loss and during the bye week. I then wasn’t convinced during the Browns win and his actions there. So yeah I’ll eat humble pie and take my share of crow. I was wrong no doubt. I’ve done a complete 180 and I’m now team Nick. He’s a leader of men and some of us didn’t even know it.

I pointed it out earlier.

You listen to what Sirianni says during the week and then hear the players echo it on game day.  Hard work, details, toughness, connection.

His leadership skills are impressive and harder to find than the ability to game plan.

Well as we’ve shown we can find good coordinators to come in and help shape this team. Steichen and Moore on offense. Fangio and I guess to an extent Gannon on defense. But Sirianni is the glue and the DNA that brings this all together.

Completely agree. I said similar, he's one of the best communicators you will find. Clear, consistent, honest and accountable.

Never now lol

He won the Super Bowl. He's done!

I wanted him fired early in the season, but his barber did some kind of magic on the guy.

The way this thread aged is priceless….its hilarious looking back on it… especially several pages of posts after the 2-2 start heading into the bye. I admit to having serious doubts about Sirianni at the end of the ‘23 season… He has certainly grown into the position well. He’s adapted…

My favorite part is how clearly people are avoiding it even after the extension. Wonder if people are secretly hoping he collapses so badly next year he'll get fired? Still?

Latest episode of Eagles Unscripted dropped. It's another masterclass from Coach

  • 2 weeks later...

Nick Sirianni should be thanking Howie Roseman for the controversial draft pick of Jalen Hurts at the time and Carson Wentz wanting out of Philly. Having Hurts enabled Eagles to trade Wentz. If Sirianni had to deal with Wentz, Wentz may have gotten him and other coaches fired/out of a job like what Dak Prescott has done to coaches with Cowboys .

While that may be true, I still say the actual reason Howie took Hurts in Round 2 was because at the time, it was looking like the 2020 College Football season was either going to be canceled or delayed to the spring of 2021 (as FCS Football actually was in the latter case) due to COVID. If that had happened, Howie would have at worst been in a position to trade Hurts for a high first-rounder because some teams would have rather had a QB who had been in the NFL for a year learning how the NFL operated as opposed to drafting a quarterback who had not played since the fall of 2019 due to COVID. That was a gamble that wound up paying off in a much different way than I believe was the original intention.

I just voted for October 2024.

I think I am spot on.

Nick deserved his criticisms from how he was acting at the time, but he also more than deserves his praise now. It’s actually pretty astounding this man has been able to motivate modern football players to buy in to his concepts. I was one of his biggest critics, but this man is a leader of men and frankly a winner. I still go by the no sacred cows mentality though so I need Nick and Jalen to just keep doing what they do and that is win.

Nick Sirianni is On The Verge of NFL History

After Sunday’s win, Nick Sirianni is now in striking distance of the most wins an NFL coach has ever had through their first 5 seasons, including playoffs:

1. George Seifert - 68

2. Paul Brown - 64

3. Sean Mcvay - 63

….Nick Sirianni - 58 through Sunday

—————————————-

This means that if Nick Sirianni wins 6 more regular season or playoff games, he will have the second most wins by a HC in his first 5 seasons, and the most by a HC in the salary cap era.

And if somehow the Eagles manage to win 14+ regular season + playoff games (which they won 18 last year), he will tie or beat George Seifert for the most wins an NFL head coach has ever had in his first half decade in the league’s entire history.

***important factor of note:** George Seifert took over the #1 team in the league his first season: the Super Bowl champion 49ers, who were coming off 6 consecutive 10+ win seasons. Nick Sirianni took over the 4 win Philadelphia Eagles, who earned the 6th overall pick in the draft and hadn’t won 10+ games in 3 years.

Philadelphia’s Remaining Schedule:

Week 5 Sun, 10/5 vs DEN 1:00 PM CBS

Week 6 Thu, 10/9 @ NYG 8:15 PM Prime Video

Week 7 Sun, 10/19 @ MIN 1:00 PM FOX

Week 8 Sun, 10/26 vs NYG 1:00 PM FOX

Week 9 BYE WEEK

Wow! And you know what as the CEO HC really it’s all about the wins for him. This team doesn’t quit and doesn’t know when it’s beaten and that’s a huge credit to the HC.

If he ever loses 2 games in a row, I want him fired!!!! 🙃

I'll update the choices to make them relevant for this season if we ever have the displeasure of watching a display like that unfold again.

Yeah that's great, too bad he had nothing to do with the teams success....

Oh, now the clowns are back. This thread should be fired into the sun, since it was nothing but crickets after winning the Super Bowl. I even said people are avoiding it to wait and try to find the next time things don't go so well.

New plan, let's get a QB that can play a traditional NFL scheme instead, rather than relying on people who become successful NFL head coaches due to their outstanding versatility, which compensate for our QBs problems. Jalen has an outstanding plus in that he knows his limitations and plays to limit them from being problematic, but you can only limit those things so much.

Guess this can be revisited but he isn’t going anywhere unless they never win another game. Which might happen.
