That was strike one for Siri and Hurts, in that order.  Three strikes and you are out, as they say.

I don't blame Siri for tonight but I wanted him gone after last season and nothing has changed for me.

Who was he flipping out on during our last possession? I didn’t see a ref anywhere close.

He was flipping out at hurts for not getting off the snap and having to stop the clock with timeout.

His seat is lava.

I’ll believe that when I hear it from a reliable source. But if true, this could be another miserable season.

We're just fans venting bro, no source.

Howie loves Siri. The team would have to go less than .500 and Siri to lose the locker room like Chip to make Lurie fire him.

Yeah absolutely. A lot of us, or some of us, want him gone but that doesn’t mean the organisation are considering it.

His tush will feel the push if they start the season 1-3.

Which is very possible given the schedule.

It won’t though because this schedule looks like there’s enough wins in there to not panic… and by the time they realise it’ll be too late.

Maybe you are right.

Looking at the schedule past that, it easily could spiral to 3-6 or 2-7.

Not seeing Ws like I did before.

Bottom 5 defense with no pass rush.

Which will make the secondary look worse than it is.

I don’t disagree but say they somehow go in to NO and win (yes unlikely and no I’m not going to be backing that) then all of a sudden the outlook changes. We then start to see the positives again. I’m sure right now Dallas fans, Niners fans, Ravens fans are all feeling the same. Bengals fans too.

I want to be optimistic.

I really do.

But that last drive by a fragile and immobile Cousins has traumatized me.

Have no faith in Fangio and this D to evolve.

Kubiak and Carr will carve this D for 50 points if nothing changes.

Who will suddenly emerge as a pass rushing threat? Just don't know anymore.

Oh don’t get me wrong that drive brought back 2023 memories for me! I’m not feeling good about this team nor this season. This season had huge boom bust potential and after that loss I’m thinking more bust. I’m just saying things change quickly in the NFL. Who thought NO were going to look this good? Who thought the Ravens would start 0-2 and the Bengals? We have talent on this team (yes mostly offense) so we still can get it right. But change needs to happen and sadly Sirianni isn’t going to lose his job until the season is over.

Come on now. Barkley catches that little swing pass 99 times out of 100. Was a guaranteed first down and a good play call. The Falcons offensive line, especially on that last drive, was holding a ridiculous amount. Was a really weird game, felt strangely insipid through the first three quarters. Hurts played well apart from the desperation time INT. Barkley had another nice game except when he dropped the ball game.

I´m not pleased, but I am not that worried.

How can you not be worried? Atlanta are not a good team. They don’t stink but they aren’t good. And we just lost the game to Kirk stinking Coupons who sucks. The DL is as bad as advertised and I’m not sure the offense is going to be as good as we hoped.

I´m not worried because it´s a long season. We protected the ball well, were one play from closing out a pretty comfortable win. The Barkley drop was freakish and we won´t see that again. We won´t see so many ineligible downfield penalties again. The defense will learn a lot from that last long drive, especially Mitchell, who showed his inexperience there. 15 games to go. Win eight of those we make the playoffs. We´ll be fine.

Again against an average at best team. Yes it was one play away from being a W but we didn’t hold on and we let Kirk Coupons drive on us and win the game. That’s bad football no matter how we want to look at it. NO next will should do a real number on us based on what we’ve seen!

Oh, I agree it´s bad football and they should have closed out the game. No argument there. Just saying it was a bit freakish and it´s too early in the year to be so downcast. It´s too sunny here this morning to let that make me miserable

Unless Fangio knows magic, it is about to get ugly next Sunday.

It could be an ass whipping of epic proportions if the team doesn't learn from this abomination.

Was it freakish though? Yes I’ll give you that the drop was a little bit freakish and most the time he makes that catch. But the defense bending like that? We saw that all game.

I think it was that freakish, yes.

OK well we will have to agree to disagree there because what I saw (asides from the drop) was what we feared we’d see from this team.

From NFL.com

Next Gen stat of the game: The Falcons had a mere 0.7% chance of winning with 1:56 left in the fourth quarter, according to the Next Gen Stats win probability model. Their comeback is the seventh-most improbable win in the Next Gen Stats era (since 2016).

Seven times in a thousand sounds pretty freakish to me

Maybe and yet… we managed to find a way to lose! A theme we saw last year too.

The trouble is, we sort of knew what was coming didn't we?

Seen it too many times in the past, especially last year, and even in the superbowl.

They're just chokers of massive proportions. The lot of them.

Siriani just seems a bit thick between the ears. Some of the decisions are baffling.
