Posted June 26, 20241 yr Didn't see a thread for this. Anyone watching it? Amazing show They've changed a lot but also kept with a lot. I know a lot of people aren't happy about the race change but the show still works It's been renewed for season 3
June 27, 20241 yr I watched season 1 expect for maybe the last 1-2 episodes. So jarring at first that Grey Worm speaks regular English with a 1900s New Orleans accent now! I don't think I finished the season (no specific reason) and my guess is Season 2 is filling my DVR that I haven't looked at it a while

I wouldn't even watch the show because of such an unbelievable premise.

Louis and Claudia are black but the way they did it works Lestat has been my favorite even though he was also my favorite in the books

Queen of the Damned I want to say was 2nd?? and 100x better than the awful film adaption they made. Either 3rd (or 2nd) was The Vampire Lestat I want to say which was really good and followed his life for a few hundred years prior (and post?) the timeline of Interview. I can’t remember any details now, just that I really enjoyed them at the time. Did Lestst in the past know the Antonio Banderas character from interview? I feel like that’s something my brain is vaguely recalling but we’re talking more than 20 years ago now that I read that.

Interview with the Vampire (1976) The Vampire Lestat (1985) The Queen of the Damned (1988) The Tale of the Body Thief (1992) Memnoch the Devil (1995) The Vampire Armand (1998) Merrick (2000) Blood and Gold (2001) Blackwood Farm (2002) Blood Canticle (2003) Prince Lestat (2014) Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis (2016) Blood Communion: A Tale of Prince Lestat (2018) Lestat met Armand before Louis did. So yes The tv show just finished the first book. There are things from other books that have been mentioned
July 1, 20241 yr I was thinking Lestat was actually second, but since QotD was the "sequel" movie that came out, I figured I just mixed up the order in my head given that its been 20ish years now since I touched the books. Looking at it now, I can't tell if Memnock is where I fell off or Merrick... definitely something with an M and I can't recall anything specific about Armand so I'm thinking Memnoch is where I tapered off.
