Democrats need to rein in Musk before he F’s everything up.  Congress controls the purse strings, not Trump or Musk.

Well Musk controls the payment valve at the moment and Trump is challenging Congress and they effectively have full control at the moment.

SCOTUS will be key now.  Roberts and Barrett are the deciders.

Seems high

Oversight Democrats made a move on Wednesday to subpoena Elon Musk for his unprecedented illegal takeover of government systems. The motion failed 20-19, as two Democrats missed the vote. One of them, Ro Khanna, represents Silicon Valley.

Congress • politico.com Live updates 3hrs ago Shutdown anxiety rises DANIELLA DIAZ 02/05/2025, 7:42PM ET Democrats on the House Oversight Committee moved to subpoena tech billionaire and Trump ally Elon Musk at a hearing Wednesday - and one Democrat was conspicuously and missing from the vote, Rep. Ro Khanna of California, who represents Silicon Valley and has a longtime relationship with the billionaire. Khanna said he missed the vote and said he was unaware it was happening - but three Democrats familiar with the run-up to the vote who were granted anonymity to describe what ensued said Democrats were given a heads-up about the maneuver to try to catch Republicans by surprise. They said they believed Khanna knew the vote was happening and made an intentional decision to miss it.

I'm registered democrat. I have voted straight democrat for the last 6 years. I don't have a favorable view of the democratic party. Spoiler alert: I'm voting straight democrat next election too.

Prominent mainstream media journalist and author Joe Klein savaged the Democratic Party, claiming that its recent Democratic National Committee meeting proves the party’s "intellectual corrosion is comprehensive."

...it is only matched by the self-righteous arrogance. But what’s the alternative?" he said. "I’ve been through Dems in Disarray syndrome multiple times in the past: in 1972, in 1980, in 1988, in 2016…but, gotta say, this is the worst I’ve ever seen it."

In his article, headlined, The Democrats Show Why They Lost," Chait wrote that "outgoing chair, Jaime Harrison, attempted to explain a point about its rules concerning gender balance for its vice-chair race. ‘The rules specify that when we have a gender-nonbinary candidate or officer, the nonbinary individual is counted as neither male nor female, and the remaining six officers must be gender balanced,’ Harrison announced."
