Based on polling, she was the easy front runner for governor of CA. So either she doesn't want the job (and it's a crap job), or more likely, she wants to be free to run in 2028. If she doesn't run in 2028, she is admitting her career is over. I doubt she's at that point.

And FWIW, Shapiro can't hold a candle to the likes of Ed Rendell when it comes to competency as a democratic governor.
