Posted July 20, 20241 yr I have been reading Randall Cunningham's 1993 book recently and I find it funny that in it he kind of bad mouths Rich Kotite. This is pretty ironic since Kotite was still coaching the team. He talked about how the offense got off to slow starts and how they were predictable, and they forced him to play a lot in the pocket which he hated. He also talked about being annoyed with that whole benching thing during the 2nd half of the Cowboy game in 1992 and missing the Raider game the next week.

He wasn't perfect, but he would have gotten a better OC for Randall. Braman is the worst owner we've ever had in Philly.

Only the Cardinals stunk. Imagine if Randall had someone like Reid. We could potentially have been those early 90s Cowboys.

Cunningham hated staying in the pocket because our offensive line was so bad in that era. I've always disliked Kotite, but even Kotite would have had a more successful offense if we had had a solid offensive line. There was no quick fix for a line as bad as the one Ryan inherited. You couldn't just go out and sign the best free agent for improvement because the only free agents around were guys that couldn't make another team's final roster. Honestly, I doubt we had one guy that would even make the 2023 or 2024 roster in their best season with us. Cunningham didn't mind playing behind that terrible line as long as he was free to improvise. Cunningham did have someone like Reid when Gruden was here. He just wasn't the kind of QB you could plug into a system. It was better to develop the offense around Randall. Billick showed everybody how effective Randall could be with good blocking and scheming around his strengths.

The Eagles very worst owner was Bert Bell, with Jerry Wolman not too far behind. We've been spoiled all these years and expect the Eagles to be an elite, winning team.

There is nothing wrong with expecting a play off team every year.
August 6, 20241 yr Women's High Jump. Vashti Cunningham didn't quite medal, but had a good showing. She completed the same height as the two women tied for 3rd, but she finished 5th which is her best finish in the Olympics so far. #Standing Athletes Height Y. Mahuchikh Ukraine 2.00 N. The funny thing is Billick built the Vikings offense for Brad Johnson at QB. Cunningham was the veteran backup who took over after Johnson got hurt. The key was they were loaded on offense: Cris Carter and Randy Moss at WR, Robert Smith RB, and a stout offensive line.

August 8, 20241 yr Remember when Kotite--in a pre-playoff game press conference--told everyone that Randall can't run in the playoffs? Not only was that stupid, but he basically told the opponent, don't worry, Randall's not running. One of the dumbest things I've ever seen a coach do. Even if you don't want him to run, DON'T BLAST IT TO THE WORLD. IDIOT! Prior to that, Randall had to work within Buddy's offense (if you can actually classify that as an offense.).
August 10, 20241 yr Cunningham might have been a completely different player if Ryan did anything to actually get him some OLine help and an OC.
