Doug officially fired yet the Jags somehow kept their GM.

Daboll and the Giants GM are both safe. After the whole Jones/Barkley debacle I was certain the GM would be fired

Doug deserved better than the fustercluck that is the Jags. Can’t believe they kept known idiot Trent Baalke.

That's it so far? I expected a couple of more.

Part of me feels bad for Daboll, being stuck with Daniel Jones and them letting Barkley walk meant they were never going to be good. It feels like they never fully committed to rebuilding even though that's exactly the stage they're at.

Meh, he knew what he was signing up for when he went there. They keep rebuilding by taking receivers and running backs meanwhile their line has been complete sheet for the last 10-15 years. Barkley didnt make sense when they drafted him and he didnt make sense to keep either. They were never a running back away from competing in either scenario.

Not a big surprise there. The surprise was that he was their head coach to begin with.

They are being given the chance to bring in their own QB.  Jones/Barkley was from the Dave Gettleman regime.,

The Jones contract was handed out by Schoen. He had the opportunity to not pay him and go get a QB but decided to give Jones 160 million dollars and then let Barkley walk this past offseason. Maybe they should let his 12 year old son do his job because he showed he is better at it

True, but I think Mara wanted Jones back and from what I remember insisted on that.

Head coaching candidates need to be more discerning when seeking a position with some of these teams........the idiot owners have exposed themselves and the bad GMs have a track record to investigate.

Any coach considering Cleveland, Jacksonville, Chicago, Tennessee, Las Vegas, New Orleans and the jets,  needs to step back and wait.

Other teams that aren't currently seeking a HC but have bad owners and front offices like Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dallas and the giants, will continue in playoff limbo and mediocre seasons due to owner and GM ineptitude.

I realize a head coaching position with an NFL is highly desirable, but putting your career in the hands of idiot owners and bad GMs simply isn't worth the damage done to your reputation.

How about the Steelers HC? I don't think they've won a playoff game in like the last 7 years or so. That should get a HC fired, no/yes?

Hey are posts getting deleted in here? I could have sworn I had a post about how the Raiders never should have hired that HC in the first place.

Mike McCarthy out in Dallass. Not fired, but not renewed. So he'll either be out of coaching or with another team in 2025.

Raiders just hired Pete Carroll

I like that. Hopefully the Silver and Black can get to being relevant. That Division has some good Head Coaches, IMO. Even though I can't stand the Broncos HC.

Only remaining HC job now is the Saints after the Cowboys promoted Brian Schottenheimer to be their HC. They did complete a virtual interview with Kellen Moore, but all of these other hirings does increase the chance of us keeping him.

I’m not so sure that’s a good thing? Not sure it’s a bad thing either. The hope is in year two he can instill more of his ideas and give Hurts a second year of stability?

Not as much of a slam dunk as keeping Vic Fangio at DC, but I do think there is something to be said about giving Hurts some stability with another year with the same OC

Oh for sure! Hurts has had a lot of change at OC both in the NFL and in college so for sure I think there’s a positive in it. But I think we do need to see a progression in this offense next year. With another full off season to work on things it needs to be better.

Yeah, there's complaints to lodge against Moore, but all in all I think we can be pleased with how he's done so far. Assuming he doesn't take the Saints job at some point in the next few weeks, I think that Hurts will benefit from having the same OC for more than 12 months.
