Tampa already gave the blueprint for stopping it in the playoffs.  When it’s win or go home, teams will devise a way to shut it down.  Not sure how many DTs will give up their body during a regular season play, though.

With the new offense futuring tight ends and a quick dump to a hot RB, how will the WR situation play out? Each of our star WRs wants to make over 1000 yards. Considering the WR salary and the $$$$$ investment by the team...will retaining such an expensive WR duo can be considered wasteful? if the ball is constantly fed to a RB?

In the long run there is only one ball to go around. Someone will be complaining....

Considering that Eagles did previously had stupid signings in the past...I wonder who will be complaining? and in turn which signing or retaining ...in the future ....may look stupid in retrospect.

Provided he stays healthy I think he becomes an impact player, but I’m concerned with these rumors out of camp the Eagles are using Gainwell a bunch especially in the red zone. Are we really still doing this? I hope they don’t do that ridiculous thing where they kept giving Gainwell nearly a full quarter of a game to himself.

Iirc they would sub him in in the rz. Frustrating at times

Apparently he’s currently being used in RZ packages. If this is true his role probably doesn’t change. If I’m Barkley I’d be very frustrated being the guy who drove the team downfield just to watch Gainwell come in and score theTD or Hurts do the Bro Shove.

Not for nothing, but for a team with Barkley, Hurts, Goedert, Smith, and Brown as more than viable red zone options do they really need to find a job for Gainwell too?

With this offensive line, Barkley's YPC will go up.......but it's tough to say how many yards he'll get when the eagles have so many weapons and Moore loves to spread the ball around.

D'Andre Swift got an average of 16 touches over 16 regular season games he played and 1 playoff game and ended up with about 1085 rushing yards and 245 receiving yards.   I think Barkley will get 20-25 touches per game......so I'll go with:

1400 rushing yards

600 receiving yards

8 TDs

I think part of the worry though is what offensive line will he be playing behind? Will it be better than the Giants? Absolutely. Will it be a top half of the league line? Probably. But I don't think it will be the dominant top 3 (and in fact probably the best) offensive line in the league like we've become used to.

On top of that they still like to run Hurts in short yardage and not the backs. I expect to see Hurts to have double digit rush tds over Barkley. Even combined run to pass tds, I doubt Barkley gets more than 10.

Miles Sanders had 11 rushing TDs in 2022 while Hurts had 13 (rushing).

I believe Barkley can surpass Sanders' best season here

18 touchdowns with all of the talent this team has is a ridiculously tall order.

Shady had 20 in 2011, 17 rushing 3 receiving

Yes it is ...it's just a prediction but I also think that Saquan will get the receiving TD's from screens and wheel routes that past RBs couldn't. 

Also being an off-season signing and we've done this before, Howie will like to show everyone that it was a good signing for those that criticized 

it. I think him getting in once a game is doable but I agree we do have to spread the ball to others, not going to be easy but is doable.

I don’t disagree with you because we know he’s got the ability to do that… But it depends on Jalen. We know he’s been a little adverse to throwing to his RB. Is that because he hasn’t trusted them? Or because that’s just not his game?

I think Shady got 17 one year if I recall. I heard in camp they have been subbing in Gainwell in the red zone again and if that’s true and they are doing that in games it would make that even more difficult, because it would mean Barkley has to score from 15 to 20 yards out every time. The Eagles ran the bro shove twice in a preseason game so clearly that move hasn’t gone anywhere either. It would be cool to see 18 from a back, but it feels like some of the things this team did in the past (like those stupid wr screens) are still here and it makes me think it will be a major challenge for Barkley to get that many tds.

Could be due to a lot of things. The offense before seemed completely designed to get the ball to the two outside receivers. For as much as the back receptions suffered, those two guys were feasting with numbers. The screen game was brutal though. The screens to the backs and receivers never worked well. Occasionally the screen to Goedert would work, but that also was more miss than hit. Overall the problem seemed more like a system issue and not just a Jalen issue.

So was Duce and Shady, but the Eagles Oline were really good at running screens too. McNabb’s most accurate pass was a screen. 😂🤣😂

Am going for him in fantasy this year.  AJ too.  They will be our rockstars.

Just manage his run load, don't put everything on him like the Giants did.  He will do fine in our Offense. I'm excited to see what Saquon does here because it's a good fit to me.
