Henry with 140 yards rushing last night.  So even with 1 more less played, Saquon still leads Henry in total rushing yards by 67.

I like this Saquan tracking thread better 😉

I don’t understand the need to have a 2nd thread to track this but whatever.

I prefer the BENCH SAQUAN BARKLEY NOW thread.

Just everything is wonderful about it. The denigration of the best player on the team. The misspelling of Saquon's name. The throwback to the old LeSean McCoy thread.

It is just a chef's kiss of a thread.

Saquon has 160 more rushing yards (1392) this season alone than Miles Sanders has since leaving Philly (571) combined with Swift’s season so far in Chicago (665)

Swift looked so good early last season, but he is just a guy.  Can't imagine why Chicago wanted him so badly.

Some insane Barkley stats for ya:

  • 1392 rushing yards through 11 games is 8th most in NFL history
  • his 255 yards rushing against LA are the 9th most in NFL history (and most in 15 years ... last was Jamaal Charles in 2009 when he ran for 259 yards against Denver)
  • Barkley has 314 more rushing yards through 11 games than anyone else in Eagles history (he needs 216 yards over the next 6 games to pass Shady's franchise record of 1607 rushing yards)
  • he is only the 6th player in NFL history with multiple TD runs of > 70 yards in the same game
  • his 1649 scrimmage yards are 10th most through 11 games in NFL history
  • his 500 scrimmage yards in the last 2 games is the most by any player in a 2-game span in 47 years (since Walter "Sweetness" Payton had 525 in 1977) (the previous record by an Eagle was Westbrook with 383 yards)
  • he has 5 games this year with > 145 yards rushing (only 7 players in NFL history have had more in an entire season, none have done so in just 11 games)
  • he is on pace for 2151 yards rushing (NFL record is 2105) and 2548 scrimmage yards (NFL record is 2509) - he needs to average 118 yards rushing per game over the final 6 to break the record and 144 scrimmage yards per game to break the 2nd record

BARKLEY FOR MVP!!  :flex:

In week 3 I bet $10 on saquan to win the MVP and will win $600 if he does

What's funny is he would have more TDs if not for Hurts and the tush push play

Charles played for KC did he not?

And there were at least a few carries in the 1st half that he came close to breaking loose

Yes.  Typo (for KC, against Denver).  Thanks for catching that.

The last non-QB to win NFL MVP … Adrian Peterson in 2012.  How their numbers compare through 12 weeks:

He is special, no doubt about it. I have a feeling though that he is a team guy and won't want coaches to actively pursue the records for him

I think Sirianni talked about that this week right? He said records are things that come to you and will become a judgement later in the season. In other words keep playing well and if the records are there to be beaten in the last week or so then there’s a conversation to be had.

The best thing that could happen for his record pursuit is if the Eagles still have a lot to play for over the final 2 regular season games - which in all likelihood they should (Bye week, homefield advantage etc)

I guess he's been pretty good so far. Not bad anyway.

The Lions play the Vikings in week 18.  That's no gimme for Detroit.  If we are still a game behind at that point, they'd obviously still hold the overall record tiebreaker.  They would also have the conference record tiebreaker (they have 1 loss in the NFC, we have 2).  I do wonder though, should Detroit drop that last game (such that we now are even on both of those tiebreakers ... that is assuming we would pull out a W against the Giants in week 18), who owns the next tiebreaking procedure?  It would be great (specifically relating to Barkley's quest for the NFL rushing record) to have a 1pm game and Detroit play in the later time slot, as we would still (potentially) be playing for the 1 seed.  I do wonder if the record is within reach and we have nothing to play for (i.e. we are locked in to the 2 seed regardless of outcome of our game and Detroit's game) if Sirianni wouldn't sit him to protect him from possible injury in a "meaningless" game.  I mean it would make sense ... he is critical to our path forward in the postseason ... but it would suck to be this close to such an accomplishment and not be able to achieve it because they didn't play him.

That's fun speculation but running the table will be an impressive feat for the Eagles. Ravens at home are no joke. The Lions have a pretty tough schedule too. I would not be surprised to see them drop a game or two.

Back on topic, Saquon Barkley might be the best thing in my life right now.

I didn’t mean to imply both teams would run the table up to week 18 … only that, in that hypothetical situation, we are still 1 game back (could be them with 1 loss and us with 2, or them with 3 and us with 4, etc).

Yeah agreed. Kind of an above average RB. Nothing special or great. I'm still waiting to be impressed by his play. Maybe this week is his break out game.

Saquon with 107 yards rushing yesterday to Henry's 82 means he extended his lead over the latter by another 25 yards (total for the year: Barkley - 1499, Henry - 1407).  That 92 yard lead is with one less game played than Henry too.

Total scrimmage yards at the conclusion of week 13: Barkley - 1766, Henry - 1532.
