Here’s a video of it:

He said he didn’t like Swiss cheese and didn’t ask for it. He ordered a steak with wiz and onions. He simply asked the question why the perception is such that it’s insulting to ask for a steak with Swiss cheese. It was a dig at John Kerry.

Naturally the Inquirer misrepresented that fact and had to issue a follow up clarification tweet to correct their misrepresentation.

Wanting Swiss cheese on a cheesesteak is freaking weird

Tell that to John Kerry. JD didn’t ask for one.

Who?

It's insulting because swiss cheese is awful.  How that BS is on every deli counter in the country is beyond me. Cheese Wiz is processed crap, but at least it doesn't taste like a broccoli fart.

It does too.

I prefer provolone myself.

American or provolone are the only acceptable choices.

I will allow a nice sharp provolone. Swiss sucks ass and I will die on this hill.

Make sure not to fall into one of those holes.

Woodrow's on South street does a truffle whiz that will blow your boobs off. Good whiz is basically just good tasting cheese mixed with processed crap like American or Velveeta to help it melt better.

Truffle wiz? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. Probably tasted just like Truffle wiz.

Swiss cheese is great when paired properly. You have to use it with something like sweet Lebanon bologna.

I'd rather pair it with the trashcan.

even if he did order it, swiss cheese on a cheese steak would be the very least of weird things about vance.

we do that with cooper sharp. it's not hard to make a cheese sauce without whiz.

Yup. Roux->Bechamel->Mornay basically. Same concept, different cheeses. Although if you're putting it on a sandwich I do some melting cheeses and try to whip/aerate it if I can to fluff up the texture.

And NEVER with Swiss, the Jalen Reagor of cheeses.

I like swiss in a ham and cheese sammy. Never in a ham and cheese sub though. Gotta be American or provolone then. Swiss is also good cut in chunks and dipped in Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard, along with some chunks of ring bologna.

You know what would go better on those things?  Any other cheese.

Most of the time I agree, but every once in a while I have a craving for Swiss. Might be a Lancaster County thing. Diced Swiss and other cheeses, along with ring bologna is at every gathering, especially at fire hall weddings. Gotta get Swiss early though, it doesn’t hold up to room temp as long as some cheeses.

Cops chuckled. Might have see if they're too well funded.....
