Posted August 11, 20241 yr Currently in the middle of a "slow draft" (different people logging in to make their pick from different time zones, started earlier this week). 11 teams, PPR, I have pick 1 and took CMC in the first round. Was considering getting a 2nd RB at the Rnd 2/3 turn, hoping for either Pacheco or Etienne to fall to me from my 2nd tier of RBs, but to no avail. There's one person left to pick before me but it looks like it might be a while, so surveying the board and thinking about going WR-WR here. So far no QBs are off the board, and someone drafted Travis Kelce in Rnd 1. Top remaining RBs: Rachaad White, James Cook, Alvin Kamara, Josh Jacobs, Joe Mixon, De'Von Achane, Kenneth Walker, Aaron Jones... Top remaining WRs: Davante Adams, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Mike Evans, Chris Olave, Michael Pittman, Jaylen Waddle, Drake London... Part of me wants to go Adams and Evans if neither get taken this next pick, given their production versus banking on potential from someone like Olave, Pittman, Waddle, London, etc., to breakthrough, although I could always hedge with a veteran and young WR and go for one of each, or go for two young prospects altogether? I'm not sure about going with either of the SF WRs given Samuel's injury history and unique usage as a runner in the same offense as CMC, and with Aiyuk potentially getting traded, but perhaps I'm overlooking them in this decision? Or are one of these RBs worth using a pick here at 22/23?
August 11, 20241 yr If Aiyuk is traded that probably increases Deebo's value and volume, I figured he would have been gone by your pick. Of those RB's Walker always tends to slide, he has RB1 upside but injuries killed him last year and then he struggled when he got back. You may luck out and have him available with your 4th round pick but I'd say all those guys are gone and you'll have to find an option in the next tier.

Going WR/WR at the 2/3 turn (Davante Adams/Mike Evans) instead of reaching for Rachaad White/James Cook/etc... ended up being a solid move, as there was a run on QBs in Round 3 with a few WR/RB taken and a big run on WRs through most of round 4. Still landed Joe Mixon in Round 4 as my RB2 with a choice between him, KW3, Kamara, Aaron Jones, still available from that tier I mentioned above. Was torn between Mixon and Kamara, basically a coin-flip considering Mixon going to a new team (albeit a better OL situation with less competition) versus Kamara having a solid receiving floor even with his rushes decreasing, but more backfield competition. I almost considered doubling up on RBs there but Michael Pittman was still available and the value was too good to pass up as a flex in Round 5.
August 21, 20241 yr Looking at those mid-tier RBs: I am big on Mixon this year. Houston has a strong offense, and he's the unquestion #1 RB. I think he's due for a bounce back. I don't like Kamara as much because the Saints are so meh. But it's his contract year, so he could come up big. I was able to pair Mixon with James Cook. I am happy with my 1-2 RBs there. KW3? I don't know what the new Seahawks offense looks like. Aaron Jones? Darnold at QB could drag him down.
August 21, 20241 yr Considering those mid-tier PPR WRs on the OP: Adams, Evans - solid choices Deebo, Aiyuk - can go up or down, depends on a potential trade. Olave - Saints, meh Pittman, Drake London- breakout potential Waddle - competing with Tyreek Hill for looks
