It was a protest organised via Tommy Robinson to unite the kingdom (another one took place in Australia too) - I was elsewhere so didn't go nor pay masses of attention to it until yesterday. Essentially it was a protest to express national pride in an era where forced diversity and multiculturalism is prominent and to increase pressure on this pathetic Govt (more to come on that). Credit to the organisers for how it went- they put a lot of effort to say no violence and we won't tolerate if you do kick off, so it was largely peaceful. Much to the annoyance of the media and commentariat as they were desperate to label as far right. The left over here dislike "flagshaggers" and the vast amount of flags was certainly triggering.

Estimations of attendance range from the media line of 100,000 attendees vs people who were there saying anything from 500,000 to 1.500,000+ people attended. The photos and video show the vast nature of the protest, but also diversity of the protest. It wasn't judge white working class men, it was mothers, aunties, people from different backgrounds, expressing what we needed to. The sense of being British vs the state approved one. Even independent observers have commented that they were surprised at the variety of people that attended.

Everyone's favourite billionaire called in live and it went down well. We had people from around the world attend and participate - NZ, some MAGA people attended, etc. A real mix of people.

The counter "paid" protestors turned up, got afraid and couldn't go home as there were so many people there. The on ground policing was good, their social media was awful. They tried to pass off a video from 2020 lockdown protests as violence from Saturday. This is a taste of how peaceful it was

As for our Govt, the fallout from the Mandelson scandal is at the ferrets fighting in the sack on a sinking ship stage. The far left of the party are now flexing the muscles sensing power, the PM is in full on crisis mode to move on ASAP. He's looking for someone to throw under the bus, but the only person who can do is the one person in his regime that has a vague intellect. And is he does, that person will take him down in the process. Meanwhile., the reality is hitting of what their own fiscal policies have done to the country, and how wildly unpopular the next budget will be.

The issue is they spent so much money last year, raised taxes so much, they are in stuck in a corner where they need to raise taxes again, but because so many rich people have left, they are now going to dump it on us, making the pressure on them even higher. They need to drastically cut spending, but the scorpion and the frog fable, putting taxes up is in their nature.

Either way, they are screwed and the govt is DOA now. There is a talk of the Mayor of Manchester coming in and calling a safe by election to do it, but such is the hatred of this Govt, there really aren't any safe seats anymore.

It is a well know tradition from Pakistan where we'd say over here, they keep it in the family. There is a movement over here to ban first cousin marriage because its just wrong on many levels. and the rate of genetic defects in the kids impacted from the country are high. Lots of pictures out there of families with kids who are physically, mentally or both, impacted by first cousins getting it on. Also, it can hide spousal and family abuse when its all in the family.

He went to trial and got found innocent by a jury of his peers, the woman who said set fire to the hotels admitted her guilt to the offence while she was being questioned by police, her solicitor was then forced to tell her she had no defence in law and she plead guilty to avoid a longer sentence, the legal advice she was given was entirely correct under the law which is why her appeal on the grounds that said advice was wrong was thrown out.

Trial by jury is a cornerstone of the British legal system. The reason the UK is such a clown car at the moment is that people like yourself and BWFC believe stuff you read about two tier justice and get angry about it and start throwing up flags every where and get angry at people who have nothing to do with it, as opposed to actually reading what happened and realising why the circumstances are entirely different and it was the legal system working as it always has and was designed to do.

Lucy Connolly, as others, were flexed into pleading guilty due to the system indicating she'd be on remand indefinitely if she did not - her focus was on her daughter and not thinking about the intent of being guilty (she was naive). The Govt wanted to make a point, they did, and since,, people continue to be jailed more harshly for hutry words than more serious crimes like SA.

A jury of his peers cleared a man advocating for others to have their throats slit. Its pretty clear what his intent was by the pant wetting glee of the women near him. Now the interesting point here, is if you get the make up of the jury correct, you can anyone get acquitted from a crime as guilty as hell (OJ Simpson). This case was consistently punted into the long grass, so Mr Jones was given the max time to suggest he had trauma from doing PE in his underpants.

As I said, I think Connolly deserved punishment, but she was sentenced to a longer prison term than the illegal immigrant arrested recently in Epping,. Why is our system so broken that words are punished severely than SA?

No she wasn't flexed, all her interviews will be recorded and a confession obtained via threat of indefinite remand would be illegal under PACE and inadmissible in court, the officers concerned would be investigated for professional misconduct, her defence brief would have taken it up in her original case or her appeal and she would've gone to trial with no admission of guilt, she didn't go to Trial and her appeal was thrown out. Her story is a confection so the Farage can present her as a cause celebre at Reform conference.

You've done a post up there about the Notting Hill carnival which has an incorrect number of arrests at the 'Unite the Kingdom' march, if it had the correct figure (23) you'd be able to figure out that the rate of arrests expressed as a percentage of attendees are more or less identical (I mean actual attendance, not figures Tommy Robinson pulled directly out of his behind on X), in fact 61 of the arrests counted for Notting Hill Carnival were arrests outside the carnival footprint based on facial recognition for offences committed elsewhere so the numbers are slightly worse at the march.

Why do people have to show pride in their heritage with flags all of a sudden, why is it suddenly vital to run a union jack up every lamppost in Town? Patriotism?
