We also have our version of the Monorail being built at the moment; it is wildly over budget and descoped to deliver something rather than nothing.
April 24Apr 24 Tell me you've never really worked in the private sector, without telling me you've not really worked in the private sector. He just doesn't understand the concepts of tax ratesWe have the most expensive energy in the world, and somehow other countries lower prices are because of the markets, not their taxes on top.

Winston Marshall (the questioner) was effectively exiled to St Helena Island for saying he'd read an Andy Ngo book; the cancel pigs went full on cancel pigs with that admission. Now I can't abide the unending blandness of Bum Fluff and Sons, but what he did isn't a crime in an open and free society. So while the question is a cheeky dig at PM Starmer who wants a trade deal with America, its not out of the realm of nowhere. If you want some entertainment, look up the talk Marshall participated in at Oxford Uni. If I recall, Nancy Pelosi was there too. I could smell the stench of alcohol from here

April 30Apr 30 This thread, from focus groups in the east and north east of England will put fear into all political parties. Its local elections tomorrow and while the Govt cancelled some elections for reasons, they are still going to get obliterated. This one, from a normie shows how desperate people in those areas, and the UK areAnd this one summarises the mood. Only Govt supporters even think they are mildly doing wellMore feedbackOn Nigel Farage (insurgent party leader)
May 2May 2 If you want to see the English people kick the two biggest parties (Conservative and Labour) square in the nuts through sheer frustration at their systemic incompetence, this is iit:The Govt lost their 16th Safest seat in the UK in a by election last night by 6 votes (think the Dems losing a seat to the Republicans in Center City Philly), and got caught doing some level cheating elsewhere. As a reaction to this dire performance, the Govt say they are going to go harder and faster on change, presumably because they are too thick to read the room and realise we don't want their change, or them anymore.
May 3May 3 The UK populace have been telling politicians what they want from them for 10 years now, and the established parties just won't do it. Reform have their own problems, but fall into the category of hopefully this lot will listen and if they don't, by voting for them, we're showing Labour and the Conservatives there are other options out there. The below is a prime example of that attitude. That is a Govt minister speaking.
May 6May 6 This thread, by a journalist is yet more unsurprising reading about the grooming gang problem and how prevalent the issue usYou can see why our Govt don't want an inquiry. It's largely in their electoral heartlands

Our armed forces recruitment is in the pits at the moment. As an example, the RAF got caught out in 2023 for discriminating against White Male Candidates. BBC NewsRAF diversity targets discriminated against white menThe inquiry began when a female officer quit, saying there was too much pressure to meet targets. The internal attitude has not gone away. It is ironic as our PM loves to posture towards Russia, but the very demographic he needs to utilise in any war (white men), will very likely tell him to sod off, even if drafted.

And we desperately need our ranks filling. To be fair, the armed forces aren't unique with this philosophy. In 2025 already, West Yorkshire Police put a "temporary pause" on recruiting people from a white background, a football team (Ipswich Town) advertised a job where white people weren't allowed to apply, etc. We are forsaking merit for DEI, and it's hurting us everywhere.
