Posted July 29, 20204 yr We decided to skip the league this year with the NFL on shaky ground for a full season and players opting out. Anyone else cancel theirs or you in it for the long haul? Ours was in-person at my house. Way too small to social distance.
July 29, 20204 yr my league is also an in person draft at my house....but i'm switching it to an online draft for this year. we already use espn so all i have to do is change the draft type. i just don't want 12-15 people at my house during a pandemic. a couple other things i'm considering are: - adding 1 or 2 roster spots...should help if players start going out with covid during the season - contingencies for a shortened season...if the season goes less than 8 games & then gets cancelled, everybody gets their money back. if it goes at least 8 games, i'll follow espn's lead in determining the final standings. in my nba league, espn went with best record as champion, 2nd best as runner-up, etc.
July 29, 20204 yr Online draft this year as long as the oldies are into it. Some of them might drop out, but I think we'll still have enough teams. At this point I'm preparing like it's a normal season. We typically don't draft until Labor Day weekend, so who knows what will be decided by then.
July 30, 20204 yr We're switching from our usual in person draft to online this year. The penalty of drinking a shot for drafting any Cowboy will have to be honor system based this year.

July 31, 20204 yr I opted out of the league I have been in for 10 years. Its going to be a mess this season.

August 3, 20204 yr Author I have one friend who is in it. Everyone else are friends of my dad, an Uncle and friends of my cousin who lives in Florida. It'd be too tough for us to do an online draft. Just trying to get 9 other people to agree to a date is tough. No one has the rona (as far as I know anyway) but my nuero-muscular disability isn't anything to f with just for the sake of having an in-person draft. Plus I don't see a full season being played anyway.
August 3, 20204 yr i ***officially*** changed my $$ league to an online draft over the weekend....no complaints from the other owners yet.
August 18, 20204 yr We are doing a virtual draft and adding 3 slots for injured reserve players who might get covid.
September 4, 20204 yr We did our draft over Zoom. It's a money league, but we'll wait until Week 10 or so to see how things play out as far as COVID or any protests go before depositing the money into the league bank.
September 5, 20204 yr I rule I’ve suggested is to add a Covid19 bench spot, so if a player tests positive, you can put a player (or two) there. Then, I suggested that you get the first right to their backup (mainly if playing a 4 PM game or later), so you’re not completely screwed. That is, only if that player is available. So if you have Devin Singletary playing Sunday night and the news comes out after the 1 PM games started that he’s positive and won’t play, you can pick up Zach Moss (if he’s not already on a team). If someone has Moss, you can get the next RB on their team, if you want. Otherwise, hopefully you have depth who hasn’t started or just pickup someone else who might do something.
