He’s a solid veteran with NFL experience. White is inconsistent, Baun has little off ball experience, Dean may never make it and is injury prone. JT is a rookie and BVS is really a special teamer. 
 

I know people are saying it’s him or BVS, but don’t see why they can’t keep both for now, especially with us likely putting Smith on phantom IR.

Agree with this.  No doubt Burks makes the team without the injury on the first day of camp.  Was flying around on Saturday so he seems healthy now.

It's a tough call.  Really depends on how many they keep at DT (does Booker IV make it?), DE (Patrick Johnson?), and CB (Ricks and/or Jobe)?  I think they go only 3 at RB and TE so that would give them some flexibility.  And I know they value Jobe for his STs play but he can't cover so I'd likely move on from him.  But do they give a 29 year old player on a 1 year deal a spot over a younger player?

I agree.  No way would I keep Ainias Smith over him.  I'd keep 5 WRs instead of 6 and hold onto Burks and VanSumeren.

Yeah, I read that, but it's not confirmed yet.  Either way, I would only keep 5 WRs instead of 6.

I ready that burks is a veteren so wouldn’t be subject to waivers and can be put on the ps without risk of someone stealing him.

 

I like Burks- played his ass off. Bradberry is taking up a roster spot over a DESERVING player.

This.  Will be pissed if Burks is not on at least the practice squad.   Have to figure at least one of the other thirty-one teams wants him.  Bradberry is shot.  Only a fool would trade anything for him other than maybe a swap of 7th round picks.

Well we found a way to keep him … he has been added to the practice squad.

I’m glad to hear he made the PS. A decent player with ST value and NFL experience. I know he missed a lot of TC but he played pretty well when he returned.

Interesting that they’d promote Burks.  They easily could have elevated him for the game on Friday then sent him back down.

They probably need to elevate a TE and a C and then depending on who is inactive, somebody to fill that role. Burks may actually be inactive and we see them activate B. Smith for ST. If we do that the 1st 2 weeks, it gives Burks more time to catch up in practice after the TC time he lost.
