I told the 25 year old girl at my work about it as soon as possible to ruin her day lol. She literally wastes half her day watching tiktok.

I mean, 25 is kind of old to be watching TikTok all day.  Imho

Read the article I posted about it.  Trump shut it down because they trolled him.

And like most things with trump nothing will actually happen. For once I'd actually love if he banned it because I'm sick of hearing about that stupid app.

Lol oh leave me alone!! I only said the 30 year old thing because I unfortunately have friends in their mid 30's watching that crap and the videos they do send me are sometimes older people making videos

It’s being sold to Microsoft isn’t it?

No that transaction would be denied if Trump banned it. ByteDance also previously discussed selling a majority stake of TikTok to American investors, but the Trump administration appears to have rejected that course of action, a person with knowledge of the situation has said.

If it's stealing and spying on Americans then I don't have a problem with the ban

Agreed, but evidence and a transparent decision making process would be nice. I’m wary of sweeping moves done because POTUS says so.

I’ve watched about 5 minutes or so over the last month.  It’s all kids.

Lol wow you have such a vast experience with it

I don't think any of us really care. We are just discussing it.

There were a few that cared on the first 2 pages

I was on the first 2 pages. I put up an argument that it is BS to ban it but, I really don't care lol

Yeah, I couldn’t care less about TT or who ones it. I do have a problem with the Government overreach though. Trumpbots pretend not to care now, but wait until President Biden does something like this.

Well it will be definitely interesting when Biden is president. ( Yeah I said when because he will be) at least it will be one step removed from this circus

But we are and no one is forced to use TT.

By we you mean non Trumpbots.  They follow Agent Orange blindly and have no free will.

I doubt many people over 30 actually use tiktok.  I mean, I would find that very hard to believe.

One of the main reasons for the ban is that the App doesn't just "spy" on the direct user.  It has the capability to "spy" on anything that the primary device is connected to...through a wifi connection...which is connected to a router....which other devices are connected to.  It basically can tap into every smart device in your house.

This crap app is worth 50 billion? Not sure what Microsoft sees in it to be honest.

You've given us a much more thorough and reasonable explanation than the president has.

I asked my 12 year old son about it and he said it is for people that have nothing else to do.

Didn't that happen during obamas terms though?

Actually the patriot act was born in the GW era, Obama and Trump have kept it going. This is more about the government spying on us, not the enablers who allow it.

I meant the whole Snowden thing

Um...just blatantly saying government needs to be paid off. Completely wild.

It’s fine because they’re paying off Trump.

Meh...the statement itself isn't that "bad".

But if that's the case, then every time a US business buys a foreign business (thanks in part to US policy) then that business should also be taxed accordingly.  I'm not sure Trump really wants to go down that rabbit hole, tbh.
