Posted September 2, 20241 yr This thread is to take a trip down Memory Lane and remember the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles. This is the 20th Anniversary of one of the most enjoyable Eagles Seasons ever. They are the last NFC East Team to win Back To Back Division Titles (It's been over two decades and this stat has still stood). They are also only one of two teams to Sweep the entire NFC East in the last 20 years (Cowboys did it recently). Plenty of players have ended up in the Hall of Fame and Eagles Hall of Fame. Sure it didn't end how we wanted too with the Patriots Loss (Still got Revenge 13 years later), but the reality was it was a fun ride from the 1st game to the Super Bowl. After three straight NFC Title Games Losses, they finally got over the hump. This thread is to talk about your memories from that year. What games did you go to? How did you feel when the Eagles started the season 7-0. How Angry where you when a Rookie Big Ben handed us our first loss or when Dallas took down T.O. Or the Birds having to get back to the Super Bowl without all our weapons. Not to mention the Birds winning 13 Games for the first time in Franchise History. Anyways, I went to the Eagles @ Washington game, the one they won by 3 points late in the season. I think a Skins fan poured beer on me from the nosebleeds because I was wearing Eagles gear that day, lol. Plus on the bus ride to the parking lot, Skins were were furious at that loss, lol. It was still a fun game to watch. Anyways, Ironically Jeremiah Trotter son is now on the team on this Anniversary. September 2, 20241 yr I was a season ticket holder then, so I was at every home game, including the Divisional round game and NFCCG. It was also the only season I went to a road game. A friend of mine and I went to the MNF game in Dallas that year. The game with the 14 second scramble, 4 TD second quarter, which was in our endzone. While I had hoped that Pittsburgh game would have been better than it was, I did expect a loss that weekend. I remember being so sickened seeing TO hobble to the sidelines and locker room after Roy Williams horsecollered him. Was definitely great being there for the NFCCG they finally got past. The day before dumped a shitload of snow and I was parked in the neighbors driveway to get my truck off the street. Had to dig us both out because he was behind me in the driveway. I got free though. I was hell bent on not missing that game.
September 2, 20241 yr I actually took a train to the city and stayed in a hotel in center city the night before that Falcons game. It would have been too risky to try to get there the day of the game. My friend who was coming to the game with me was from out of town and I stayed with him. Lots of snow. And it was downright frigid. I’ve had season tickets for over fifty years and have been to about 600 Eagles games. That was definitely in the top three of "coldest”. Possibly number one. Went to the Browns game with my father. Had seats along the sideline with a poor perspective on field goals. On the Akers overtime kick, we had an arrangement where one of us watched for "distance” (I think that was me) while the other (my dad) watched the big screen which had an endzone view to check for accuracy. As the ball was in the air we both made the call of "good”.

Definitely one of the times Akers came through in a big way.
September 3, 20241 yr I was at the Vikings Divisional Round game. It was the first playoff game I ever went to. It was pretty cold that day (but not as cold as NFCCG) but I never felt it. The crowd was pumped from beginning to end. Randy Moss had just mooned the Lambeau Field crowd so he saw lots of moons entering the stadium. There were a few Vikings fans in my section who took a lot of heat until a guy in Cowboys gear showed up right after kickoff. Section turned on him real quick! I never felt so confident about an Eagles game before. It was never in doubt. I remember trying to score tickets after the game to the NFCCG but nobody would give them up. Good times.
September 3, 20241 yr I knew it was going to be a special season when Donovan and TO connected on the first play of the pre-season against Baltimore. Then the first game of the season against the Giants where TO had 3 td's, wow. I remember thinking how great it was to have a real play making wide receiver. Garcia carving up our d only to come out on top in O/T. TO doing the Ray Lewis dance after he caught the game winning TD, lol. The beatdown in Pittsburgh and the 14 second scramble in Dallas. Feeling depressed after TO broke his ankle. Dawkins hit on Algie Crumpler in the NFCCG made me jump off of my couch. Still don't know how Crumpler got up after that. I thought we were gonna have an all-PA Super Bowl. Lots of great memories.
September 4, 20241 yr Author The NFC Championship was wild because Vick was in his Prime and very dangerous and the Defense was able to shut them down.
September 4, 20241 yr My 2nd favorite Eagles season of all time. Five random under-the-radar memories I have from that year: 1. McNabb to TO for a long TD pass on the first offensive play of the preseason vs Baltimore is one my favorite all-time moments as an Eagles fan. 2. I was extremely frustrated when Shawn Andrews broke his leg in the opener and was out for the season. 3. The Cleveland game was much more stressful than it should have been. 4. Brian Westbrook's wheel route TD vs Green Bay was an absolute work of art. 5. "I wanna than my hands, for being so great."
September 4, 20241 yr I hate to be "that guy”, but the bomb to TO on the first play of the Ravens game wasn’t the first play in preseason. We actually opened the preseason in NE with a 24-6 loss to the Pats. It’s definitely a forgettable game, so the confusion is understandable.

Him and Corey Clement probably have two of the greatest from-out-of-nowhere performances in a big spot in franchise history.

I do remember Burgess had a good game vs atl but don't recall Simon doing much lol. And yes both out of no where much needed performances
December 13, 2024Dec 13 Author Mcnabb and TO were back in the news as they both commented on the "Jalen and AJ Drama". I hope one day they both can settled their differences and let it go, it's been 20 years, lol.
