Tank Dell
Chris Godwin
Terry McLaurin
Christian Watson

I have several options at Flex this week. Dell, Godwin, and Watson will be competing for targets but each one has big play potential. McLaurin will be catching passes from rookie QB Daniels in his first pro game. Who would you flex this week?

I was undecided. It was between scary Terry and Dell. I took Dell

My thinking is I will sit McLaurin until we find out if Daniels is any good at QB. Pass on Watson because you never know what happens when NFL goes international... So Dell or Godwin?

The Eagles secondary still looks bad. I know you can't go by the preseason, but the team looks sloppy AF.  Because Sirriani is a club med coach and the players barely break a sweat before the first game, they are always rusty week 1 as well. I'd go Watson.

One vote for each.  That'll help.

I think Godwin, my reasoning below

Dell may not see enough targets with Diggs, Collins and Schultz all getting looks. Juju Brents was a second round pick but their other corner was a 7th round rookie last year that played out of necessity. I didn't watch enough of their corners to know how they held up but they were top 10 (with a cluster) in passing TD's allowed and middle of the toad in passing yards

The Bucs D could be okay this year even though they weren't great defending the pass last year. McLaurin with a rookie QB is a wait a week if you can

The Eagles secondary is better this year, I think whatever passing yards they give up will be going after the LB'ers in mismatches. Watson is an outside guy and will be big play dependant, Reed probably causes more damage with mismatches.

While I think Baker regresses this year, I think Washington don't have a great secondary and Godwin will have a lot of opportunities. They probably try and double Evans and he gets loose in that matchup.

He can stop now

Week #1 results: Godwin is the correct answer. He feasted against the dismal Commanders secondary.
Tank Dell and Christian Watson put up decent numbers. But they got lost in the shuffle in crowded offenses.
McLaurin was the only wrong answer. Daniels doesn't know how to throw to WRs.

I may need to start two of these guys next Week #2 if Nacua is still nursing a knee injury. It looks like all 4 of these guys will be ranked closely.

Yeah. Reed was a much bigger play than Watson.

As I feared, Nacua was put on IR. Godwin is going to start. But who do I Flex: Dell, McLaurin, Watson, or Brandin Cooks?

I fear Dell has the tougher matchup. But does Washington, against the lowly Giants, take the training wheels off of QB Daniels so he can throw to McLaurin? Watson will likely stay on the bench with backup QB Willis playing. Also, I was able to snag Brandin Cooks off waivers.

I'd play Dell. I don't like Watson with a backup QB. Daniels looks like he has no interest in throwing the ball so I'd avoid McLaurin. The Saints have a good secondary and Cooks was boom or bust last year. I felt he was bust more often than not owning him. Dell may have the best volume of all the options so he would be my pick

So Watson had 0 catches and 0 targets which is a disaster. As long as Willis is the QB he rides the bench.

Cooks caught both of his targets for 19 yards and had a rush for lost yardage.

McLaurin caught 6 passes for like 20 yards. He was targeted 8 times but that YPC is awful. He was still the winner here because Dell has alligator arms and dropped what probably would have been a 60+ yard bomb that could have gone for a TD. He caught 1 of his 4 targets for -3 yards and rushed for positive yards. I feel like he dropped at least one more pass outside of that bomb.

Yeah. I feel like that is Dell. He has the ability to break a big play. But he can bust when he misses.

I think I will still pencil Dell in as Flex because the potential is there. But I wonder if Cooks is in play Week 3? The Ravens secondary looks very mediocre.

I came back to post Brandin Cooks stunk. The only Cowboys you can play are Lamb, Prescott, and the kicker Aubrey. Maybe Ferguson at TE. Stream Cowboys D with a good matchup at your own risk. Tolbert can be stashed at WR, he's wait and see. You can't use Zeke or Dowdle at RB because they split touches evenly. There really aren't many Cowboys players you can rely on.

The Cowboys have been abysmal. I'm holding Dowdle but he will only see the field if I'm desperate on a bye week right now

Cooks isn't the Cooks pre Dallas. He hasn't been a 1000 yard receiver since 2021 and had his targets regress drastically as well. Dak tends to key on Lamb and forget he has other guys to throw to. You'll go nuts trying to pick his 3 boom games of the season

I have two Flex options Week 4: Terry McLaurin @Cards or Jauan Jennings vs. Pats

Terry McLaurin is suddenly playable after Daniels figured out he can throw long balls. But in comes Jauan Jennings as my waiver pick up. He probably won't score 3 TDs again, but he should get looks since Deebo is doubtful.

Godwin is starting WR for Nacua on IR. Dell is not looking good to play this week.
