I’m not saying it was false, but don’t let the little things ruin a great start to the season.  Going to another CONTINENT to play a game in crap conditions, overcoming early adversity when the offense spotted them 6 pts off turnovers, getting pts before the half and then storming down the field to start the 3rd to take control.  So many good things outweigh the bad.  Focus on that!

He actually is. He didn't just throw interceptions- he threw BAD interceptions. This is year 5. Those interceptions are just QB 101- you just DO NOT THROW the ball in those circumstances. I can't believe he is STILL that dumb. But he really IS. Scary- because we a stuck with this guy for a long time. He is making rookie mistakes at year 5. AND he is making the SAME mistakes over and over and never learning to stop making those mistakes. THAT is scary. I am not trashing him here- I am telling the truth, plain and simple.

The first one was dumb and forced.  I think the second one was cockiness, he thought he could make a play and trusted his receiver to win a battle.  I tbi k people are over reacting to it.  If it was Brett Favre in his prime he’d be a "gunslinger” and people would love it.  And he threw 23704928 passes in camp without a pick according to Elliot dork Parks so there’s that.  

Defense allowed 1 TD in 4 red zone trips from GB.

I loved the way they played!!! Especially when the offense handed GB the ball TWICE in our territory!!  I think one may have been midfield but basically the same you get my point

Look I don’t want to bring up the past, but Jalen should’ve had 4 picks and a possible pick six in this game. Jalen had two fumbles although the first wasn’t really on him. That pick in the end zone was just poor. You can’t give up points like that. That throw to Dodson that almost ended up as a pick six might have been worse. There were times when he just held the ball way too long and another time he took a sack when he should’ve threw it away. Still in the end I’m going to chalk this up to the lack of preseason, poor field and new coordinator. With that being the case I need to see more improvement as the season goes on.

Jalen has had 3 different coordinators in his pro career, I’ll give him a break on some of It tonight.  He’ll get better.  There were clear things that were better - the communication of plays to him was very good and nick stayed out of the way for the most part so that should help.  It was weird when they went to no huddle in the 3rd quarter for no reason, except maybe to keep GB gassed, but that was a drive that ended in an INT because of on field miscommunication.  Again that should be better but I feel like they were testing things out, like that was a preseason drive 😆 

Baun is an Instant legend. First game and already at the top of the record books!! 

I’m not going to act like I’m mad, because they won. Still I won’t ignore some of the concerns I saw out there mostly related to Hurts and at times the defense. That final drive (except for that fumble on the bro shove) was mostly Jalen and that slant he threw to Smith was just as impressive as that first down run he made. He made good plays when he needed to, but too many bad plays for my liking. This is coming from a guy who some people around here call a Jalen apologist.

Right, because not only is Hurts making last years mistakes, he is making his rookie years mistakes from FIVE YEARS AGO. It's a fact. Those 2 picks- a rookie wouldn't have thrown them, because they KNOW you can't throw those kind of picks. Hurts also NEVER cleans up his mistakes- he keeps repeating them. I think you’re rightfully critical of some things, but I truly think the new coordinators are going to be huge.  We saw a ton. Of motion and different formations, running from under center, maybe 1 bubble screen instead of 10, etc.  you didn’t see all of it but I how you recorded it and watch it later with a different perspective because there’s a lot of good.  Own the bad….grow the good. 
 

defensively we literally had one of the best performances from any player ever.  Baun set a record with 14 tackles.  We also missed a few INTs by inches.  Causes some fumbles that GB recovered, but created takeaway opps.

Stat line will tell a different story than the the test and I think my eyes are telling me the team has to clean up some stuff but has a lot of great potential.

He was really lucky he didn’t throw a pick 6 on that sideline play. 

The one positive, aside from Hurts’ sloppy play, is the way they moved the ball up and down the field with ease. 

Last year’s opener against against NE, something was really off and they never really got on track.

Yeah that one puckered the hole 😆 but he did plenty of good things too.  60 something snaps, 34 pts, 7:30 minute drive to close it out, and we wanna  focus on "almosts?”

We didn't get enough sacks.  But that one interception was due to pressure.  We also got some pressure on Love that led to incomplete passes.

He was sloppy but he moved the ball pretty easily.

The defense really bailed the offense out especially early in this one, but the run defense just got gouged didn’t hear much from the Georgia boys in the middle, and I saw one play where Huff slipped like three times on a Love touchdown pass, but again that field should not have been played on. It was a preseason level performance and the Packers kept the Eagles in it with all of their penalties and mistakes.

People have that foreboding feeling from last season. The Eagles were winning games, but clearly weren’t looking good doing so and eventually everything fell apart. Even last year the Eagles beat some really good teams during that stretch and by the end they couldn’t even beat Arizona. Jalen can’t be this loose with the football every game. The Eagles can’t lose the turnover battle every week and expect to win. The Packers are a good football team so it’s okay to win close, but I kind of expect a much better performance against the Falcons at home even though they have Cousins.

Carter was strong and penetrating a bunch but also being held a lot!  He got called for a weak penalty early that kept a drive alive.  Davis was MIA though.  And Huff was active but I think the field hurts the edge guys.  Even GB edge guys don’t do much.  The bright spot is that Baun was a beast and what you saw from him tonight was to me what you saw from Dean at Georgie where the front 4 did their job and freed up the backers to make plays.  Dean had an up and down game.  I think he shows promise and then at times gets lost.  He was probably more of a product from the GA front, and we are seeing that plat out.  Baun tonight was what I expected from Dean day 1.

I don’t want to throw the whole game away, because there were some very bright spots in the lowlights, but I feel like this game isn’t the real representation of this team. Now if they continue to play like this I will be concerned.

When they were 10-1 last season a lot of people felt they were unbeatable so one game won’t change my perspective.  Especially given the coaching changes.  I think they’ll get better as the season goes on.  I’d take slow start through 3-4 weeks and a strong finish over last years collapse.
