September 7, 20241 yr Saw him doing the same as he did at Georgia. Holding the line and creating space for others to make tackles
September 7, 20241 yr the big problem with the DL was the edge rushers, but they were too busy slipping and sliding because of the field conditions, so you can't draw any conclusions...
September 7, 20241 yr Funny he literally made the very first play on defense with that TFL on Jacobs on GB’s first 1st down.
September 9, 20241 yr I don’t really think this was the game to criticize any of the defensive players. They were fighting against the Packers constantly holding them and that ice rink of a field. I don’t expect Davis to even be a pass rush specialist. He’s a guy who will eat up blockers to let linebackers roam free. Baun had 15 tackles and 2 sacks. Take the win.

September 17, 20241 yr This guy must be the softest 360+ player in the history of the NFL. Charmin soft. In what was then the biggest play of the game, the CJGJ tackle, 4th and one, he isn't even on the field. They move up one spot, give up two additional picks, and in the most crucial situation of the game their 360+ so called run stuffer isn't even in the game. They drafted this guy to be Dexter Lawrence and he isn't even Thomas Booker.
September 17, 20241 yr Remember all the insane hype he got his rookie season in the preseason game against the Jets when this infamous pic surfaced of 3 lineman blocking him? Can we retroactively give him the Nate Ilaoa award or whatever it's called? 🤣

My point is we hoped for game wreckers and as of now, one looks average and the other looks good but not great. To me. they're disappointing. I had high hopes for them both.

He may be a solid enough player but they traded up for him so solid is nowhere near good enough.

It's funny that people speak so highly of Jerome Brown like he was a dominating DT from day 1. In reality he was infamous for taking downs off and never began living up to his potential until well into his 3rd season. Even though his sacks dropped his 4th season, he was dominating that season and the next. It took a while for him to become the real deal and even while playing on a loaded defense that was extremely aggressive.

I see Davis has a teeny-tiny gas tank and is done by mid 2nd quarter. Carter got thrown around some vs. Atlanta and he disappears late too. Linemen take time to develop. I get that. I'm just saying the disruptive plays that should be starting to show through with some consistency by now simply are not. There's still time for them if they truly commit to being the best they can for years to come. that commitment is what is expected of them, yet I don't see any real difference in either player from last year at all. Disappointing.
September 20, 20241 yr Will be watching him and a few others on Sunday. NO is smoking right now on offense so should be a good test of our young players.
