I think Huff shows up against the Bucs. As bad as he has been the first 3 games, he is only 26 and he is playing in a new system. If Carter and Davis can cause collapse the pocket and force Baker to break the pocket he could get a couple of sacks in this game.

It happened once and Sweat was the guy that was able to capitalize. They Bucs game plan was to take away the pass rush with quick throws and it worked. The D looked freaking awful, they were completely outcoached

I found it incredible given the eye test but according to NFL.com we're like joint 8th about 1.5 sacks a game off the best in the NFL.

We're also 6th in tackles, which is unbelievable given the number I think we've whiffed on.

I think the tackle stat is just a product of being on the field all game. It’s probably better for a defense to have fewer tackles.

Year after year it's the same thing....this team can't blitz worth a damn. Why is that?

This guy and this philosophy is so anti blitz that when they actually do blitz it’s woefully inept, because they blitz right into blockers. They don’t really disguise anything. They never blitz to allow a free blocker and they always blitz with a delay. They keep their safeties do deep that there’s a  lot of ground to cover. So even when they blitz the quarterback still has plenty of time to complete the pass. You look at what Tampa did and they found ways to constantly get free runners to Hurts. They understand how to do it. Now think for a moment about how everyone was saying how great Hurts looked during camp. Is it possible that’s because he’s going up against this soft Fangio defense? Is it a coincidence that Hurts seems to struggle a lot against the blitz as a whole considering he never has to deal with it from his own defense?

That’s how to beat the Eagles. We always got beat by inferior QB’s like Sam Howell because he would dink and dunk all game and keep our offense off the field.

Mayfield's average time to throw in this game was 2.22 (tied for 2nd quickest performance this season) seconds. The fastest sack this season so far is 2.43 seconds.

Our pass rush today is really not the issue. The only way Fangio's philosophy will work is if the tackling is good. Today it was pitiful.

Mayfield got rid of the ball so quickly because receivers were wide open. That’s because of this crappy soft coverage scheme. Mayfield should’ve had 400 yards if not for a couple of bad throws and some dropped passes.

They're shiddy

I really think this defensive philosophy as a whole puts the defense on the defensive. They’re so worried about giving up the big play that they’re giving up large chunks of yards in the process. Teams run on them because they keep their safeties so far back to protect the big play, while these coaches are failing to realize that an eight yard run or pass on first down actually is a big play. Average NFL quarterbacks can pick a defense apart when they have the time to do it. Most of these guys have been playing so long that they don’t even need to process very long to throw a pass to get a positive gain. The Eagles defense is not aggressive. If these guys were with a different coach with a different style I believe we would see different results.

Well first they would have to actually blitz and second hire a defensive coordinator that actually blitzes

Well they always just rush 4 and expect to generate pressure, and you couldnt blame them when theres two first round picks and an almost 20 million a year free agent on that Dline.
