Have they tried to get him out of the protocol though? He has to practice before he's cleared, right? So if they don't let him practice because he's not playing on Sunday regardless, is he really still in the 'protocol'? He isn't going to play so he doesn't need to practice. But if he 100% HAD to play this week for the 1 Seed, would he be able to? I'd be curious to know the answer.

Who dictates the protocol steps? Are we just holding him out of the protocol because we know he’s not going to play so we are giving him rest? Or do the steps still need to be followed regardless?

He’s probably not being held back so he’s likely not ready to be cleared… after what 12 days?

He also has the busted finger, so there might be a little bit of letting that heal up by not taking snaps.

He hasn't been seen by reporters in the limited time they have to watch practice. He could have a serious issue, or the Eagles could be playing games. I also don't know if there's a 53-man gameday roster advantage to having him in the protocol. We should know something tomorrow when he either will or won't practice.

Not that I'm upset with him for doing what he did. It was 100% the correct thing and he should be praised for it. But I'm greedy, I wanted those yards and points!

I get why he did it (don't want to pull a hammy, someone get hurt, etc) but man I wanted him to just house it. With that said it fit this thread perfectly. 😉

It reminds me of the game where Westbrook did the same thing vs. Dallass I believe. Another one (I think), is Celek. Maybe in the snow vs. Detroit? I'm not sure though. But I seem to remember Celek catching a pass and having open field but sliding down in the snow... in fact, I just looked it up.
