Smith and Davis for the time they’re getting are doing little. The run defense looks so suspect right now. Is it because of this Fangio style of defense or are the players just not good enough? The Defensive line is getting gashed . Prized DTs are garbage . It is not on Fungio, but it is on Howie. If the rest of the coaches know that they are ****.... How are these guys making the field? Who is responsible for the high end picks and money being waisted? Angelo has Eagles winning 5 this year. Until things change... it is hard to argue with him. We will continue loosing close games..just a continuation of the second half of last year.

Until they prove otherwise they’re what their record indicates. They’re a .500 team at best. Now they’re also injured in their first three weeks. So Much for keeping guys out of the preseason to keep them healthy.

I was hoping that the last half of last year was due to the coordinator mess and that this year would be more functional. Sadly that doesn't look to be the case.
September 20, 20241 yr September is the new preseason. These guys are still shaking off a little rust and starting to get into the swing of things. IF by week 5 they're playing like crap, I'll understand the criticism. Lot of teams last week had disappointing losses with their talented players playing like crap.

September is gonna be ugly for most teams but ideally you wanna build a cushion and chemistry so the team can hit its stride when it needs to and not have to be in a do or die mindset all of December and burn out before the playoffs
September 20, 20241 yr We can only hope, wish, and pray that they ALL get better as the season progresses. Yeah, September is the new pre-season and it can be ugly for a lot of teams.
September 21, 20241 yr ...another classic example of why these first round picks should not be fully guaranteed.

With Vic as DC everyone was expecting an improvement. We will get better on offense later this year, but we just do not have enough talent on defense. All the high defense draft picks from Georgia...are not producing. Vic himself said: "ask me by week 8 about the state of defense". I resigned myself to the fact that 2024 will be a waisted year of ....learning from close losses. Just like the second half of last year. Eagles may get entertaining when AJ returns, but we are not going anywhere with this 10 yards from the WR defense.

September 23, 20241 yr Davis, Carter and Dean had a hell of a game yesterday. Let's hope they can build on it!

September 27, 20241 yr Dean has been really impressive. Very happy with his play so far. Carter is our best defensive player already. He is a DPOY in the making.
September 27, 20241 yr These dawgs appear to be working out. Carter is a beast and on path to become All Pro. Jordan Davis stepped up his game yesterday. Dean has been a tackling machine. Ringo is only 22 and looks to be the successor to Slay. Nolan Smith has been setting the edge and played well last week. The whole premise of this thread is off.

I wonder to what extent those choices were Sirianni and how much were Howie: "Hey Nick, meet your new Coordinators." I can believe that Brian Johnson and Sean Desai were Nick choices. He seems like he might want to give new guys a break just like he was given a break. I wonder if Matt Patricia hire was a result of the Patriot obsession even though he stunk in Detroit.
September 29, 20241 yr They can all go. Davis contributes nothing. He was supposed to be a run stuffer and they can’t stop the run. Carter looks great one week and non existent the next. Dean just looks out of place on just about every play. Ringo never gets to play so I really can’t say much about him.

Dean is too small to take on linemen and shed blocks. He needs the DLs to take up space so he can have a free shot. But a thousand guys can do that. They need somebody who can shed blocks and make tackles. And he can't cover anybody. They should give White a shot but people on this board are convinced White is washed when they have never seen him in one play for the Eagles.
September 29, 20241 yr Dean missed at least 3 tackles that I saw in real time, and I mean badly.......

The whole premise of this thread is off. 1 good game against the Saints and the "whole premise of this thread is off" 🤣 Jordan Davis - Absolute BUST his first 2 seasons. He was supposed to be our "Vita Vea" (not even close). He was invisible the first 2 games of this season and had a good game against the Saints and then once again disappeared today against the Bucs. Nakobe Dean - Also a BUST his first 2 seasons aka "Mr. Glass". He couldn't stay healthy but now he's finally a starter. He has played decent the first few weeks (not exactly a playmaker), but today he was abused. So much for being a "tackling machine." Did he lead the team in missed tackles today? He looked abysmal. Definitely not living up to the "steal of the draft" hype due to injury. Looks like another Sidney Jones type move by Howie. Nolan Smith - Where is this guy? Given that Huff is currently the D-Line whipping boy, Smith is getting overlooked. As someone mentioned in the game thread today, he looks like a long snapper out there chasing defenders. "B...b...b...but he's setting the edgezzz!" Jalen Carter - As I mentioned in my OP, he's the only one showing some superstar potential. However, after his monster game last week, he once again disappeared. He needs to be more consistent. Kelee Ringo - Not really much to say about him as we haven't seen much of him at CB. As for his ST plays, he had a bonehead play of tackling his own teammate and a good play of returning the blocked extra point for 2 points.
September 29, 20241 yr How many times does it have to be yelled??? nKobe Dean is NOT A MIDDLE LINEBACKER (in the NFL). He is better suited at WILL.
