White inactive for the third game in a row.  He really must be stinking it up in practice.  Will he even see the field this season?

That's a good and fair comp. It would be nice to know what the issue is.

Probably some personality clashes here.  There’s something more to it.

He had an ankle injury week 1. Is he still injured or a healthy scratch?

You know, if they thought he’d be out for the first four weeks why not ir him and keep someone that could help the squad on game day?..

think it's a healthy scratch. 🤫

He was injured originally but today a healthy scratch. So the question is why?

Yeah strange he’s not at least a backup at this point.  I can see how Dean and Baun may have won the starting roles but odd that he isn’t at least a backup/rotational piece on game days.

I was thinking he boned Fangios wife or something.  Odd he is always a scratch.

IDK if we'll hear the reason for the decision while this season is still playing out, but maybe they just want Dean to know he gets the whole game each week without having to worry about coming off the field. That way he plays within the system and doesn't feel pressure to force hero plays when he is in.

yes

One of the odder developments.  White was a starter during most of training camp, I believe.  Of course, Dean was injured and once he came back he quickly overtook White.  And it seems they don't value him for any special teams duties, hence the inactive statuses.

But there certainly seems to be something more going on here.  Maybe the same reasons the Bucs benched him last year.  Guess we won't see him unless an injury forces it.  I was hopeful he could return to the player he once was, oh well.

That is a bit weird then. Maybe he doesn't provide the special teams plays of the other guys and they don't want him active on game days if he isn't going to contribute.

I think the Isaiah Rodgers situation is just as odd. He was in line to start week 1, has had maybe 5 special teams snaps, Ringo and DeJean have come in ahead of him on D and when Covey was injured they sent DeJean out there as the returner when Rodgers was pretty good returning for the Colts. Unless his hand is still jacked, it's also a weird situation.

White at Rodger's are a total mystery. This smells like Howie making them start the younger players.

Please don’t bring up Penny, still hurts me to know I seen him on the field less than a handful of times last season. This looks to be another boneheaded decision to not play a big acquisition.

"Ankle injury" ... not buying it.  If there really is something I'll bet it is minor and wouldn't normally keep him out for 3 weeks.  Can only guess he somehow got in Fangio's doghouse.

Meh he didn't do squat in Carolina after he left here either.  Stick a fork in him he's done.  Don't think White is washed up yet though.

Far from bonehead not to play Penny last year.  He was shot and his playing days were behind him.  There's a reason he retired.

Nowhere on the internet could I find that "he was shot”. And even if he was, that’s beside the point of him not getting play time since if he was shot it would have been stupid to sign him in the first place.

It was a bad signing, but for not so much money.  You don't double down on mistakes.

I don't believe White was a huge FA signing. White was let go by the Bucs because they didn't want him any more and he was a cheap signing for a starting-caliber LB. If he can regain form he is a savvy signing. If not, nothing is lost. If others are able to overtake him then I'm all for it.

He was one of the very worst linebackers in the league last year. This isn’t surprising.

He pissed Fangio off somewhere along the line. And Fangio being old school is like "Ok beeaauutch, I'll show you who is boss." Because it's NOT an injury.

White is out for the game today, for personal reason.  He can't be happy for seeing no action in 4 games.  Either he really had problems in practices, or he is on the trading block.  It is not a pretty picture.

I don’t even know what White can or can’t do because it feels like he’s never gotten an opportunity to really prove himself. Then he got Hurt and lost his spot. Yeah it seems Dean shined more in camp, but White was given he’s a starter status while Dean got reps in Preseason. Now though we are starting to see that Dean isn’t quite built to play on the pro level and teams are starting to exploit him. He’s starting to miss tackles and he’s getting beat in coverage. Heck Tampa just threw it right over his head to the TE and he was in good positional coverage, but too small to make a play. Fangio has kind of upset White and I don’t think that guy wants to be here anymore.
