Posted September 22, 20241 yr Three weeks in and Huff has yet to register any stat in the box score. Is this the worse FA signing in Philadelphia history?

Can't say I agree with that one. He didn't live up to the hype, but he was good here. He was a good DE in 2004 and was really on a tear in 2005 before getting injured. It's early for Huff, but Kearse belonged...Huff looks like a practice squad player. Nnamdi was a huge disappointment who was bad here, but he was at least a starting CB who wasn't absymal. Huff looks like someone who doesn't belong on the roster. He has been a different level of bad.
September 22, 20241 yr Given the money I’d say it’s close between Huff and Maxwell. Give it another couple of weeks and if this continues then yeah it will be him!
September 23, 20241 yr I'm not sure what his snap count was today, but it looked like they preferred to only bring him in on 3rd and long. He almost caught that first deflection by Carter, but the two O-lineman legally (because the ball was tipped) held him from getting to the ball after the deflection. He started the game, but on the first series had a really bad rep on a Kamara run where he was oblivious to what transpired and after that is when I think he became just a "3rd and long" guy. He may not be the guy the Eagles projected he could be, but maybe that will change as the season progresses.

It's once thing to get handled by a Trent Williams type, but he is constantly being handled by TEs. Right now he is #1 as the worst FA signing in Eagles history.

It seemed like he was only used on obvious passing downs after he failed to set the edge on that Kamara run. Graham took over immediately after that play.
September 23, 20241 yr He was clearly just a product of the system. He was an undrafted guy playing on a top 5 defense with an awesome secondary.

We made Kearse the highest paid D Lineman in NFL History and he never broke 8 sacks in 4 years here, we made Asomugha the highest paid corner in NFL history to be the shut down guy he was in Oakland and he was 'adequate'. At the moment with 0 sacks or QB Hits and 1 tackle through the first 3 games Huff is a single QB hit off Reddick's pace through 3 games last year.

Kearse isn't in that group. He had a solid '04 when we went to the SB. Never lived up to the hype overall but he gave us some excellent value. Huff hasn't delivered anything yet.
September 23, 20241 yr He's a $13 million a year guy you can't play on run downs, and so far, he's been really bad on passing downs, too.

Reddick was playing with a busted hand to start last year and then had 5.5 sacks in three games when the cast came off.
