I think it would have made a difference.  You can’t chase pts the entire game especially when you don’t have your two best weapons.  We don’t even know if the game plan was to run the ball because if it was, they wouldn’t have been able to because they fell down early.  This was a game they needed to take the ball first and eat the clock and win 17-10.  Instead they fall behind and there’s no chance they win a shootout game.  The defense was not prepared either.  The coaching was bad overall.

I get your point but to me this team is notorious for starting extremely slow on both sides of the ball. My gut tells me they would have started 3 and out on O and the D would still would have gotten shredded, they weren’t ready to play and that’s on Siri.

The coach should have made the team run wind sprints before they left the field.

I believe Sirianni's record in games going into the bye week is like 0-4 or something like it. Not very good.

Time for...

They won’t..realistically..we may not be second in that division…sad and frustrating

If we have our WRs back and the defense can manage to get stops here and there, we win.

Now that some of you have calmed down. Do you honestly believe Nick will be fired and Howie hiring Bill B? I say not a chance bc he has too many excuses aka player injuries

👍

The thing that bothers me the most about this team is that they always seem unprepared.  For the past 22 games, the offense looks like they don’t have a game plan coming in.  I don’t see anything to suggest they identified any weaknesses to attack or have any cohesive "plan” for what they want to do.

Compare that to the Bucs today.  They had an obvious plan of attack and they executed it well.

Hurts is merely an average QB who needs all the talent around him to elevate him.  Take away a piece or 2 of that talent, he struggles.  And his turnovers are the new 3rd piece of the 3 certainties in life: death, taxes and a Hurts turnover every week.

Between Hurts and Sirianni, it’s hard to tell who is the actual issue.  Do they not have a game plan because Hurts can’t execute or is it because Siri can’t devise one? Even with Moore this year, the O still looks more like what we saw last year with a few tweaks.

The defensive issues are mostly due to an ineffective DL…which is mostly on Roseman for bringing in guys like Huff, Davis, Smith, Dean, and White who have all significantly underachieved or flat out stink.  That, while having a defensive philosophy predicated on getting pressure with the 4 man front.  Terrible combination.

I agree. Start out the game with Barkley pounding away, sprinkle a little Goedert in there and eat up some clock. Instead, we got ourselves in a hole that we couldn’t dig out of.

Agree on all fronts

How the F did we play so well defensively against the saints…and then this week look like this

Baker to Mike Evans. Eagle killer.

Sirianni isn’t the play caller though bud.

He's not, until he is. How do we know how often thats actually happening, or hurts is changing things?

And if I’m Lurie, I hold him accountable and I fire his dumb ass tomorrow.

I think that’s what most of us would do. And there’s every reason to do that and I see no actual downside to it. But they aren’t going to do that sadly.

Fair point and comment! We don’t know because Sirianni always takes accountability for what goes wrong.

What part of what you saw makes you think we’d have blown them out at homeof? Without AJ and Smitty? I mean that literally makes no sense. Our defense sucks and our offense had very little outside of Barkley.

LOL Its Baker Mayfield, the guy stinks, total fraud.

The only reason why Bucs won was because Eagles couldn't handle the weather fatigue by the second qtr I was seeing the Oline huffing and out of breath, the offense was hardly moving the ball at that time. The Dline got totally gassed and rightfully so, being on the field majority of the game under that terrible heat.

If this game was in Philly, Eagles get an extra 3 more sacks, causes a fumble or an INT and no weather fatigue, easy win for the birds..

nfl coaches don't get fired in season.  He's not going anywhere this year.  And sirianni isn't going to bench hurts, that would guarantee he wouldn't have a job next year.  So we are stuck with both sirianni and hurts.  we will probably find out both are why we suck, it's not one or the other.  Then we'll move on to some new draft pick or worse Pickett and long for the days of hurts.

maybe Tanner McKee can be the new Nick Foles......

although "Big D**K Tanner" doesn't roll off the tongue as well...um....ugh....that was gross!!!!!

Seems we pretty much got the antithesis of the Brady/Belicheck debate

Hilarious!

Mayfield for the last year plus has been better than our QB.

And 3 extra sacks? Are you kidding? This pass rush blows.

They were lifeless and dead from the coin toss. It's almost like they knew they were going to lose.

Which is why I have zero expectations and hopes for this year. We may be better to just shut it down for the year because this HC SUCKS.

Nope. Belacheat is a Defensive coach. Fangio then will also have to be replaced. I want Todd Bowels Defensive Coordinator to install his system here for our defense.

Look what happened to Bill B. after Brady left....without Brady, Bill B is questionable..no thanks on Bill B. and honestly, If Howie got him...that would be nothing more that hype and ego by the FO.

Eh, the last 2 times we've played the Bucs we were not at our best. We did beat them early in the season last year though, so it's not like they have our number or anything. Yesterday's game was very similar to the WC game where the defense missed tackles, didn't blitz, and allowed the Bucs to do whatever they want. Once this team gets healthy on offense, I'll be a lot more critical if they're not producing points and Hurts is still turning it over too much.

One thing is clear. Bowels and his defense have shown the rest of the league how to beat the Eagles. Teams will continue to do it until Hurts shows he can beat it.

Every team they've faced this season has blitzed, and they won 2 of those games. Should've won 3 of 4, but the D gave up a TD in less than 1 min lol. He's shown improvement, but it won't matter much if they play perfectly with a defense that plays like they did yesterday.

For as easily as you could say this team should be 3-1, they could also be 0-4. They have yet to win any of these games convincingly and in every game other than this beat down the defense has been the ones on the field that decided the game, because the offense did a poor job of putting the game away. This game really put all of the goodwill Jalen has had against the blitz to bed. It felt like he got exposed here. He was very erratic with the football today especially early, and the turnovers….. I mean you can’t even say at least he didn’t throw a pick, because he put the ball in harms way even if it wasn’t a pick. Right now Jalen is not a good quarterback, this is not a good coaching staff as a whole, and overall this is not a good football team.
