Haasan Reddick (Jets EDGE) -- SIGNED WITH TAMPA BAY

Huff and a 6th

The Eagles meanwhile responded to Reddick's departure by signing Huff to a three-year, $51.1 million deal in free agency after his 10-sack 2023 season for the Jets.

But the defensive end has only played a limited role through three starts in Philadelphia, averaging 25 snaps per game and recording one combined tackle despite defensive coordinator Vic Fangio telling reporters Huff will eventually become the starter.

"He's not a good fit in that Eagles system," Cimini said about Huff. "And clearly, Vic Fangio, their defensive coordinator, has not embraced Huff. And so that's on the Eagles. They've screwed up that signing. They've taken a good player, and they're misusing him."

That situation, Cimini suggested, could lead to the Eagles considering a possible trade to get Huff out, and Reddick back in the mix following his 11-sack campaign in 2023.

Even if the Jets were to work out a trade for Reddick, the Eagles would have to face the obstacle of likely needing to secure a contract extension, something that has not been straightforward in New York. It looks like any team that wants the two-time Pro Bowler as a part of its defense this season will have to complete negotiations with him first.

Seems kinda silly to entertain the thought of trading for him knowing we will have to pay him to get him to not hold out and what his salary demands are which is why we traded him in the first place (because we didn't want to).

Reddick and 4th for Huff

Reddick gets a slightly smaller deal than we gave Huff

Agree.  Keep the problem away.

I want to laugh at the idea, but then I think about Huff through three games and suddenly it doesn't sound so crazy.

Hmm, add a prolific pass rusher that we probably shouldn't have traded in the first place? I'd be ok with that.

Obviously, not being behind the scenes, I don't know the whole reason why he was traded. I just know he was a force on the field and would love to see him back.

Poor guy.  What an idiot he is.  Has the good fortune to be making 15 mil a year.  Assuming half goes to taxes agent fees etc, that's 7.5 left.  You can easily get 6 percent in dividend stocks.  That's $35,000 a month for life.  Dividends are only taxed at 15% and you move to a tax free state after you retire and you net $30,000 a month for life, just off that one year's income. And that's before write offs.  He's already thrown away 9 mil of the 15.  And he's over 30.  What a fool.  He hits the lottery and throws away the winning ticket

I doubt very much that the team wants him back

ESPN reporter Rich Cimini believes...

The first five words of the article (I added the emphasis) make it clear that this is pure speculation.

We should get Bryce Huff and Ben Simmons to cover that

It really amazes me how dumb some players are. Look how much money he's losing by sitting out. If he finally does get the contract he wants, it would be for nothing bc of all the money he's losing by sitting out. He could have just accepted what he was offered here and not lose 8-9mil this year by sitting out.

Ain't happening

It can't happen per NFL trade rules.

Indeed

Good.

He should take his selfish, miserable attitude and never come back to Philly.

Is it selfishness when he played out of his contract here and agreed to doing 2 prove it years here and then was traded without a contract agreement?

Reddick has received permission to seek a trade by the Jets https://x.com/baller_scoop/status/1846175539708498356?s=46&t=T0nIhGUSfJUz56uUNm5YzQ

It’s too late now as the Lions are in play and will likely pay with picks and meet Reddick’s contract demands.

That’s a good thing though… Because apparently if he’s traded to an NFC team that 2026 pick becomes a 2nd round pick.
