September 29, 20241 yr My guess is that this means nothing. Anybody consider the dead money hit that the team would carry from trading Huff?
September 29, 20241 yr Probably nothing, but he could potentially climb the ranks as worst Eagles FA signing with how it's been so far

I miss the times where no one cared about this nonsense. I moreso miss the times where such nonsense didn't exist for us to not care about

September 29, 20241 yr Nnamdi played the cb position at a higher level here than Huff has provided as an edge and it’s not close.

He immediately saw the deflected pass caused by Carter and would have gotten to it for the INT if it wasn't for the two offensive linemen that also made a great heads up play by grabbing/tackling him to prevent the INT. Not everything Huff did was bad. People are just exaggerating and overlooking some good plays by him that didn't make the stat sheet. I'm not saying he didn't have some bad reps, but he also had some good ones like this: Unfortunately, he had a bad rep a couple plays later where he failed to set the edge that resulted in a positive play for the saints' offense. The fact is he was a pass rush specialist for the jets and wasn't asked to play early (run) downs. Now he's on a new team, with a different system and being asked to defend the run, and occasionally drop in coverage in addition to rushing the passer and through 3 games, he has underwhelmed. It's not hard to believe. His current contribution hasn't matched his contract numbers and that's why fans are giving up on him already. I just don't think he was going to come in here and be a reliable 3-down edge from day one. I had hoped for more pressure on his pass rushes, but he may be struggling with the additional responsibilities. For now, I'd continue to do what we did with him in the last 3/4 of the saints game. Bring him in as a situational rusher for a few weeks until he looks more comfortable.

September 29, 20241 yr Can’t take the heat of playing in Philly. Play hard and the fans will back you. He clearly just wanted a payday.

He was the marquee defensive free agent that off season. Maybe he played slightly better than Huff is playing but the expectations were also much higher.
