How will anyone be able to tell? His play on the field?

heres the million dollar question though - will Reddick still want to be paid at what he wanted in the first place ?

NFL said he can't go back to the Eagles. He would have to wait 2 years.

He would suck here anyway. Good old Vic would just have him covering elite slot receivers like Chris Godwin, one on one.

Was that always the rule for a situation like this?

I don't know. But this is the rule:

Reddick would have to be released. Or he could be traded to another team, and the Eagles can trade with the other team before 2 years is up.

I think they pulled it out of their arses- but that is the ruling.

Don't want him back

I think the thought process behind the rule is to prevent a team and player from conspiring to acquire asset(s) from another team and then the player tanking for his new team in order to get released and return to his original team that now has the additional asset(s).

If said player is released that's fair game if I'm interpreting correctly. Just bars against re acquisition via trade

Doesn't said player need to clear waivers before any team can sign....going through waivers, Carolina would probably have 1st dibs.....

Only players with less than 4 accrued seasons are subject to waivers.

I jus read what has been posted here but I'd assume if said player does indeed clear waivers it'd be fair game.

Unless page 14665 paragraph 289 subsection 51 line 27 of the rule book has another surprise for us

But prior to that, the player has to be on the 53 man roster as active or inactive for 4 weeks. He's on the reserve did not report list at the moment.

Why I leave this stuff to you guys :worthy:

Is he off the team yet?

This is on Fangio I feel, have to let Huff play to his strength which is plant his hands on the ground and rush the passer, this standup shi* is not going to work.

Watch Huff if he goes to another team ends up getting 10 sacks again...

Fangio the old timer needs to pull his ego back and do what is right for the team....

Also lets be clear, Reddick has done nothing football related for at least 8months, doubtless he'll have kept himself fit, but he'll need a while to get football fit, the idea he's single handedly fixing our pass rush at this point is nonsense.

Frankly, unless he changes Fangio's scheme of giving opposing receivers a cushion, no one is solving anything, no DE or Edge is getting home regularly when a QB can consistently release the ball to an open guy in under 2.5 seconds, offenses will just take whats on offer all game.

He really didn't do anything football related for the 2 months prior to the last 8 either.  He was pretty invisible the last third of the 2023 season.

Reddick's situation is Le'Veon Bell all over again. Not only has he forfeited more money than he will recoup in a new deal, other teams aren't interested in trading for the headache. He has pretty much tanked his own future and at a playing age where teams are expecting future decline in play. Questions about his game preparedness increase each week he sits out. While rumors about his character circulate based on whether or not he was freelancing in the Eagles' D last season.

I may be in the minority, but I'm not concerned about "fixing" our pass rush. I think sacks will happen, but our offense has to have more than a 1 score lead in a game in order to get QBs to hold the ball longer.

I said back in August that this probably ends Reddicks career. He will play again but, i think he just becomes a situational pass rusher that fizzles out into the abyss

Where is that driver that almost ran over AJ on a bike when you need him

When can eagles dump this ball bag without it hurting our cap so much?

After the 2025 season.  Cutting him (no use of pre-June 1 designation) would result in "only" $9.7M in dead money (while realizing $2.1M in cap savings).

Does he just not fit Fangio's system? If he doesn't then why the hell was he brought in?
