December 18, 2024Dec 18 If he is going to contribute this season, better get him some works before the playoff. He needs to readjust to the DL when the other guys have established some rhythm in his absence. The DC has some success in getting the defense to play at a high level. Having another piece should help as well.
December 18, 2024Dec 18 Having another guy to rotate snaps will be useful if he's good to go. Rest for Nolan Smith etc.
December 18, 2024Dec 18 Maybe since Smith has established himself so well on the opposite side of Sweat, Huff can go back to being a situational pass rusher like he was with the Jets. Wild how unnoticeable (beneficial?) his absence has been considering what we're paying him.

December 18, 2024Dec 18 Author Hopefully the time off allowed him to clear his head and now that the defense has solidified itself into a top unit without him, hopefully it allows him to just play and have fun. He won’t have all the pressure on him now of needing to be "the guy”. Hopefully that combination allows him to contribute more now.

So with that and Vic was starting to know how to play him, he could end up being huge down the line
December 19, 2024Dec 19 Honestly if he comes back on fire then the defense probably crosses into 1991 territory. The Eagles defense is already insanely good, but one area that they could improve on is sacks. Currently they're tied for 9th in total sacks (which isn't bad, but it's still decently worse than their rankings in other defensive categories), if Huff can go back to his 2023 form then they can probably improve to top 5 in that category to go along with their 1st place rankings in total defense, pass defense, and scoring defense.

December 31, 2024Dec 31 He played on the Cowboys game, but did not return to the game after some injury moment. He probably not at 100% and they take him out. Or something more serious?

We needed young talent at EDGE. Especially with BG nearing retirement and Sweat’s future here in question (he is in the final year of his contract).
January 1Jan 1 Yeesh, what a horrible FA signing. Does he come back next season or can the Eagles move on from him, contract wise? It will be a position of need come the Draft.

I would wager he will be statistically more productive next year. The question is what will the Eagles do with Sweat? If we find a way to keep him here, edge really isn't a need. Nolan Smith developed a ton this season and will likely be in the pro bowl next year as he continues to grow as a player. Jalyx Hunt has had to play more than expected this season and has flashed at times and was relatively solid. Finally, we'll have to see if 2024 really was the end for BG or not.
January 4Jan 4 Huff is performing largely right at his average outside of last year which appears to be an outlier. The dude is the quintessential jag. Terrible addition he brings next to nothing. Hopefully he can bring something in the playoffs if he has an ounce of pride, but I'm not holding my breath.
January 4Jan 4 Unfortunate injury but I too feel like he was starting to get there before. No reason for me to be that down on him yet and for a DE it's not as huge of a contract really. Sigh. Everyone has to work out right away or people go crazy. I remember people wanting Kelce and Graham cut too. Guys need to chill the f-- out.. 😄 That said it's awesome to see rookies come in and play like stars - Q, Dejean, Carter last year.. love it but not everyone we bring in can be a stud from the get go. Feels like we have had a great success rate recently.

Everyone says we should have kept Hassan (and maybe he would have been better for us) but huff actually has better stats on the year and we get a 3rd round pick in 2026
January 6Jan 6 Author Not sure of the total number of snaps he had yesterday, but credited with 0 tackles and 3 assisted tackles.
