You have a hard on for hating Hurts and rip him constantly, so much to the point that you had to post about him in a topic about CJGJ, and complain people aren't criticizing Hurts. It's becoming increasingly apparent that you take everything as seriously as possible

You just don't like when someone doesn't want to hate on Hurts as much as you do.

Aren't you doing the same thing? Maybe move along now? I'll agree to do the same.

October 2, 20241 yr It's really hard to defend most players on this team outside of Barkley, Brown, and a few others. 80% of the players aren't playing up to the level they are capable of. That right there is a definite sign of a coaching issue.

He got beat in coverage time and time again and often looked confused communicating with teammates after big plays against zone. 100% agree and was going to respond the same way. I remember watching Byard last year closely and he looked totally lost/confused quite often.

It's the same passive crappy system that the league figured out years ago which is set up for DB's to fail. There has literally been no difference between this year with Fangio and last year with Desai/Patricia.

Now we know why Detroit let him go. What was the last great play he made? Also 0 ints so far. And Maddox shouldn't be starting either. And can't wait until Slay is gone too. Why can't we just play the young guys? If he played as good as he talked he'd be an all pro every year. Sydney is back this week, but I highly doubt they throw him in and will most likely ease him in. I have a feeling we're gonna end up seeing. Mitchell, DeJean, Blankenship, Brown, McCollum(spelling??) As our future.

This is the same DC who had Nolan FN Smith covering Chris Godwin one on one. I'm not giving CJGJ or any of the players a pass but anyone who can't see that coaching has had a major negative impact on players here since last season is clueless. Look at how many guys were good before they got here and/or good after they left. Kevin Byard is a prime example. He looked completely lost here and he is back to being a good starting S in Chicago. The coaching fir this team is an absolute joke and Howie and Lurie are a joke as well for the decisions made in that regard. That's one example but it would only really apply if CJGJ had been beaten by an elite WR move rather than just bumping and turning the corner, and also if CJGJ hadn't been toasted for a TD in all 4 games so far, the mans been blowing his assignment and whiffing tackles all season, he just hasn't been very good.
October 4, 20241 yr I was so pissed they let him walk and so happy they brought him back. I feel like an idiot.

October 4, 20241 yr Hasn’t been good in coverage but he’s made some nice hits in the box to stuff the RBs

Getting a lot of picks simply doesn't make up for not being assignment sound as a safety. It's as simple as that. It might look like that when you have the third most sacks in the history of the league, but when that normalizes, it simply doesn't work. Not enough people realized that. And now there's a lot of excuses made for him all over again but the simple truth is that when Blank was here last year, he had almost nothing to work with alongside him in the secondary and played OK. Not good, not terrible, just OK. Now CJGJ has much more to work with in the secondary than Blank last year, but no super pass rush to let him roam around for picks, and he just looks bad.
October 17, 2024Oct 17 It doesn't look like it was a good move to bring back CJGJ. And I was one that was pretty excited when we brought him back. Hopefully Brown develops into a solid starting S. We can move on from CJGJ after next season with only a $3.5M dead money hit (but also get $2.4M in cap savings).
October 17, 2024Oct 17 People will like him again when he starts making plays again. We desperately need the defense to start forcing turnovers. He'll win the fans back quickly if he can do that.

Other teams have just been neutralizing that with quick passes. We just need our offense to start playing their best football, build some early leads and force opponents to take more chances on offense. Nobody has really had to adjust a gameplan since we haven't had any 2-score leads yet.

People will like him when he stops making gigantic f-ups, he's blown coverage for a TD in 4 games and in the other he stopped Mitchell getting an int by running into him even though he could see the play all the way. It's not that he's not been good, he's been actively harmful to the defense.

I would trade Slay too before the trade deadline. We have to start shedding salary and the young CBs are ready to play We need as many draft picks as we can get to add young cheap talent so I'd take a 5 for Slay
