When same-sex marriage failed in the early 2000s in CA, it was because of the African American and Latino vote. While things have changed, there is still a large group of religious African American and Latino voters that won't support a gay man. Frankly, homophobia is most prevalent among minority groups at this point as compared to white working class voters. That's what I meant by religious minorities.

The lefty loyalists love him because he is well spoken and can attack well, but when he ran in 2020 he was relatively moderate compared to the Warren, Yang, Booker types. The gay thing definitely. He is smart (ex mckinsey) and fits the type of the leftist losers who think they are smart and clever but are really neither.

First, the minority groups are much more homophobic. Second, Democrats have already lost a good chunk of white working class voters to the orange imbecile. If they can't run up the score with black voters in particular, they are toast in places like PA, MI and GA.
October 7, 20241 yr Fair points all around. Counter argument: The DNC is really really good at self sabotage and I would 100% not put it past them to put forward a losing candidate because they refuse to accept that homophobia is as rampant as it is. They put him in the spotlight a lot. IMO they clearly have plans for him in the future, even if they are ill conceived.

We're just not ready to elect a gay man to be president. I'm not even sure we can elect a woman to be president and she's running against the worst candidate in the history of our country. It's F'ing ridiculous.

October 7, 20241 yr Oddly enough you’re more likely to see a gay Republican President than a gay democrat one.

They have no spine. "He’s a good god fearing gay man who hates immigrants just like me, not like one of those degenerate evil leftist homos who want to give free illegal trans sex operation pop up books to our children.”

I'm sure they wouldn't, but they'll become less and less relevant as time goes on. The right is drifting further away from morality and they've gone so hard towards the men's movement that eventually they'll all just start F'ing each other. I mean, look at Mikemack and Kz. They're trailblazers.

They are in a cult lead by a guy who cheated on all 3 of his wives, paid off a porn star and was pro-choice for most of his life. Pretty sure we know the Evangelicals are totally full of crap.
October 7, 20241 yr Oh no Trump cheated on his wives! I better vote for the party of godless hedonism, abortion, and racism. They represent my values! TDS logic
October 7, 20241 yr If only there were some kind of preliminary process by which candidates were selected where Evangelicals could vote for someone who more accurately represents their supposed beliefs. We could call it...a primary election.

TDS logic You're voting for a literal rapist, you sick F. "The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was 'raped' within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump 'raped' her as many people commonly understand the word 'rape.' Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that,"

Wow, I for one am really surprised that the incumbent that oversaw the highest inflation the country has seen in 40 years that has fresh, new ideas like price controls at grocery stores, taxing unrealized capital gains, reparations, and stifling speech online might not get elected. Can you believe it's all because she's a woman? Chilling.

He isnt a viable presidential candidate the far left don't love him. he's much more popular among suburban educated. but he doesn't have the broad appeal needed for a higher office at the national level. he doesn't have strong support among the black population nor the progressive wing (which is weird but true).
