The talk about Iran has been subsumed by the Israel discussion and merits its own thread.  Iran could wind up being the story of the year - especially if there is regime change - something most of us are hoping for.

Are you against the death penalty, Procus?  You know Trump is in favor of more executions, right?

See if you can figure out the difference between executions in Iran and those in U.S.  I think you can.

They will regret opening that door cause he will close it. Now they know where to sent the response and maybe he will sign them

Well, I guess you stumped me.  What’s the difference?

In the U.S., executions go through a rigorous set of appeals before they take place.  Inmates can wait on death row for years before they are executed.  Those who are executed are invariably found guilty of violent, heinous crimes.

In Iran, most of those executed are found guilty of political offenses.  Homosexuality is a grounds for execution in Iran as well.  The amount of executions in Iran per capita greatly exceeds those in the U.S.  Iran has the highest rate of executions per capita in the world.

This woman has been linked to Iran.  No way in the world she should hold a position in the U.S. government that requires a security clearance.  Pre-Obama, something like this never would have happened.

Has the fingerprints of Qatar all over it.

So your contention is that the government (which you claim to be corrupt and incompetent) has never made a mistake an executed an innocent person?

Clearly not a correct statement on your part.

Did you look at the post I was replying to?

Trump wants to execute more people like Iran does.  He’s only said it like 100 times, @Procus

Why don't you share some material with us to this effect if you're so sure about your statement

I don't understand why no one has commented on my Zoroastrian stele. :nonono:

A president doesn't decide who gets executed or not.  He or she can support changing and expanding application of the death penalty.  But here's a newsflash Dave - we have a robust judicial system in the U.S.  We don't haphazardly execute people.  There needs to be a judge, jury and multiple layers of appellate review before somebody is executed.

So remind us how this is Iran again.  We're all ears.

And you're still Hitler.

That was an oldie from the early post revolution period when the American hostages were taken.  Never thought it conveyed the right message.  From the get go, the U.S. should have conveyed a message of strength and never should have allowed the Iranian diplomats in the U.S. to leave until our hostages were home.
