October 11, 20241 yr Trump origin story comes out today. MSM banned the trailer/1st Amendment. "They” don’t want you to see it. Interesting. What are they hiding?
October 11, 20241 yr The thing I worry about with movies like this is that sometimes the point goes way over the heads of dumb people. To them, it ends up glorifying the subject rather than being critical as the director intended. The first movie I noticed this with was when discussing American History X with some burnouts in my high school English class. Apparently instead of being horrified by it, they thought the curbstomp scene was really cool. American Psycho was another. Then there are more ambiguous cases like Scorcese movies, though he's tried to be far less subtle about it in recent years (i.e. Wolf of Wall St) there are still a ton of morons who come away from that movie idolizing Leo's character.
