PA's really gonna be the last state on the entire East Coast to do this, isn't it?

I'm not sure about that.  We have medical here.  South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee are all fully illegal.

Edit: You said coast, not just eastern states, so that would make South Carolina the most likely to be the last of the coastal states.

I meant full legalization, and I generally consider PA to be an East Coast state. I mean, who gives f*** about Jersey anyway? Same with the NE states, but I guess they're all technically just "Mid-Atlantic." But, yeah, even if they're not the very last one, they're going to be wayyyy down the list. VA beating us to the punch is just pathetic.

Yeah, no arguments here.  Like I said before, they still can't do alcohol sales normally here.  And you *KNOW* they are going to overtax (compared to other states) here, keeping the black market alive and thus undermining the whole f'n point of legalization.

Here's the video. It's not even a doctored quote. If anything the context is worse. FFS...

New York next. Would be interesting to do a quick population count after NY and see what % of the population is now living in fully legal states.

yep, hey just go get high and forget all about your governor's F'ups.

NY state goes fully legal and nobody it interested in discussing it.  I think that's evidence that the game is fully over.  There will no doubt be a set of Southern states that stay illegal at least for the time being but the rest of the dominoes are going to fall over the next five years.

The primary issue is banking and that comes directly from the federal level.

They need to pass the SAFE Act so guys can get banking services and access capital markets.

It will need to pass with a veto proof majority. Biden has repeatedly stated he would like to see Cannabis as Schedule II which puts it directly in the hands of big pharma.

And this doesn't even take into account the other issues with the industry.

15 states are already fully legal, save for a few the others will follow

Biden may be able to delay the inevitable but the game is up

Again, big pharma has eyes on cannabis.  They have already begun to show just how much influence they have.

No chance Biden vetoes the SAFE Banking Act.

As in what?  You think they're going to manage to keep it to a prescription based market?

For a casual market watcher, can I trust this would be good for POTX?

Yes. Very.

Well, that seals it. I am a huge fan of the SAFE act.

Passed the House in the last Congress 321-103. McConnell refused to bring it to the floor in the Senate.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/marijuana-industry-scores-big-win-as-house-passes-safe-banking-act

It was reintroduced recently in the House. The hope is Schumer will bring it up, and 10 GOP Senators get on board.

McConnell is a doooosh.

However I didn't have money in POTX then, so on this I have to say he was correct to delay.

Legalization will go down as Trump's fumbled golden opportunity. Someone so incompetent was never going to be able to manage a covid response that was anything other than abysmal, but legalizing recreational marijuana was a slam dunk. One of the few policy positions that was widely popular but opposed by Biden, and yet Trump sat idly by and did nothing. What a maroon.
