To me, heading into the game it was pretty much the same situation as when we played the jets last year. We faced a reeling team (jets) being carried by a strong defense that happened to be missing  their top 3 CBs for the game and who was starting Zach Wilson at QB. This year, we came up with a better result.

Once again, I want to point out that your expectations for this team right now, don't align with your disappointment. You have to date on the EMB predicted the Eagles to be 2-3 in the game predictions threads, but they are in fact 3-2. But somehow, that makes them disappointing. I'm not going to argue that this team is currently a powerhouse or something right now. They are not. Anybody can see that. But like any team, they can improve or fold going forward. So while they have begun the season as a middle of the pack team, they are sporting a winning record. There are currently 11 teams with a better record with 7 of those teams having the same amount of losses as the Eagles (meaning they have played 1 more game to get to 4 wins). We have played 3 of those teams that are currently 4-2 and beat the saints who were 2-0 at the time we played them.

My disappointment is due to the fact that nothing seems corrected from last year. Slow starts, turnovers, defensive collapses, overall an unprepared team. It’s like being a passenger on the Titanic. It’s a nice ship, and a lot of nice stuff on the ship. But it’s being navigated by morons, and in the distance is an iceberg clear as day. As the same time, you’re expressing concerns to other passengers who are oblivious to the iceberg, even though we crashed into it last year, all telling you to quit worrying about something we haven’t hit yet.

This isn't last year. Like I just said, this week 6 situation was very much like last year's. Then, we lost to a reeling Jets team. This year we came away with a win.

Completely missing the point.

I see a LOT of excuses being made for this team on this thread. Here is the bottom line:

With all that talent on this team, especially offense, there is NO excuse that they start slow and play ****, slow football. There is no excuse why- for over a year and a half now, they start slow as sheeeiit. The offense is f ing loaded with great talent. The head coach NEVER, ever has this team ready to play and makes goofy ass calls during the game that make no sense at all. So go ahead and make your excuses- that's what losers always do. Winners don't make excuses. There is NO excuse for this team sucking. They have a winning record, you say? Yeah, they were 10-1 last year, and that's when all this BS started.

Start by firing Siri and hiring a REAL coach, not a puppet. FO doesn't want a real coach, so we are in trouble.

Which bothers me, because to me this says Hurts is more concerned about his personal stats than he should be.  Why get 11 yards for a first down when 40+ and potentially a TD (if Brown hadn't gotten tackled immediately) will look better on your personal stat sheet?  This seems to jive with what we've seen earlier in the season with him going for the big yardage when all that's needed is to get to the next set of sticks to win the game (except it actually cost them the win earlier in the season).  Someone needs to coach this dude to stop being so worried about what his numbers look like at the end of the day and teach him that the only one that matters is if his team got the win; not if he got an extra 40+ yards and TD.

That´s pretty funny!

Would be awesome if he could do that against starters

There's good?

A Saquon Barkley dropped dolly away from being 4-1 but obviously the sky is falling in in true Negadelphian fashion

We started 10-1 last season. How did that turn out? It isn’t the team’s record that has people concerned. It’s the shiitty play of the team overall that many of us recognize is not going to lead us where we hope to go.

And that play was seen even during that 10-1 start. The signs were there last year but the wins masked them until it went wrong. And literally nothing has changed 6 weeks in to this season.

It´s fixable. Definite signs of progression this week, doesn´t matter who the opponent was.

It’d be nice if it happened soon.

A favourable run of games coming up that will tell us a lot I think. But yes, I agree.

So this team that you all have been so disappointed in and regularly pick against in the weekly predictions should have all of a sudden turned into some kind of powerhouse that destroys teams.

I'm not sure how that works.

Our defense that hasn't really been all that great (to date) did manage to hold a struggling offense to 3 FGs (9 points). So ... was that expected? Our offense which has been struggling to date faced a good defense and managed to put up 20 points, despite our run game being shut down. The miscues before halftime were at the very least a 7 point swing, but could have very well been a 10 or 14 point swing. So aside from one series in the 2nd quarter, the Eagles did dominate. We could have scored more at the end, with just under 2 minutes left in the game, but did the smart thing (victory formation) to take the sure win.

Do you how long it’s been since we won a game by more than two scores?

The NFCCG.

We beat Cleveland by 4. That's two scores for their offense.

In all seriousness, we could have easily put up another score at the end, but that would have been stupid football when victory formation seals the win.

I get how it's frustrating at times to watch close games. As we saw in this last game one fluke play like the blocked FG can turn out to be significant. But when one team just completely dominates the opponent, the truth is that opponent didn't put up much of a fight. We tend to assume it means the dominant victor is great or a way better team, but take a look at the saints this year. They absolutely dominated their 1st two games, starting 2-0. Now they are 2-4. They weren't some kind of NFL powerhouse just because they played two opponents that rolled over and died. So maybe we played some teams that aren't consistent, but they have played hard against us. I'm not going to cry because wins aren't pretty. I might complain during the game that I'm not comfortable with the closeness, but if we win in the end, it does not matter by how much.

Great! Sirianni and Jalen are now meddling with the offense! 😂
