Garrett would cost multiple high picks, no?

Eagles likely losing Graham, Williams, Sweat. We can't give up multiple high picks for 1 guy. Do yall really expect Jordan Davis to pick up the slack with Williams gone? I had high hopes for JD but im losing faith. Huff is useless so we're super thin on dline. Who fills in for Graham? Hunt?

I’m torn I’ll be honest. On the one hand the opportunity to go and get Garrett? A true game wrecker? You put that guy next to Carter and on the other end to Smith? With Hunt still to develop? I mean that’s one hell of a DL!

That said we all know our schedule is real tough next year. We also know we are going to lose guys (players and coaches) and IF we don’t win on Sunday we all know what impact that can have on a team.

I am not torn at all...Either we get him or at least we should increase the value for other team

I'm not convinced the eagles let Williams walk......they have  a lot of signings to get done with Baun, Becton, Sweat, Williams as the biggest considerations.   But Howie plans 1-2 years out when it comes to the cap and he has shown how well he handles the cap.

The WORST thing he could do is let Baun walk.  He has been the biggest reason for emergence of the this defense and has proven the value of a high performing LB.  Becton is a monster and may be the potential replacement for Lane Johnson.....and he's only 26.  Williams seems to get better and better....he may still have good upside....Sweat is a good player but seems to be least likeliest to be resigned out of the 4.

A big question is out of all the guys that are free agents here, which ones have a replacement the eagles feel can step into that role without much drop-off or can be replaced in free agency for a smaller cap hit or a draft selection. I don't see anybody on the roster who can do what Baun has done.  Steen can still develop and he's played well In replacement roles.

The D-line is where I think Howie tries to find a decent one year guy for DT but has to go the draft for a edge guy and/or maybe find a guy who is a backup that, if given the chance, could be a good rotational guy, although the Bryce Huff hasn't worked out.

It’s completely fair! I mean they have an awful QB situation paired with their QB1 about to have a huge cap hit. That’s a franchise that’s going to have to hit the reset button and are unlikely to contend whilst Garrett is still a major force.

In theory, we could probably keep Sweat and Williams for the price of Garrett --- without having to give up draft capital. We already have Carter, Ojomo, Smith and Hunt all showing improvement with experience and there's no reason we shouldn't expect all 4 of those guys to be even better next year.

Garrett feels more like a pipe dream.

I know lightning doesn't usually strike twice, but you could make a case for the team using their 1st and 2nd round picks on DL the same way we did CB this past draft?

Definitely need to keep Zach Baun as birdman mentioned. I think we can weather the impending losses on the DL with the young talent taking a step forward and opportunities in the draft

Myles Garrett on this line would be immoral for the rest of the league

The title window is open, maximize it.

Go get him Howie!

What if it cost one or two of our young guns plus some picks to do it?

It won’t cost our young players, but it will cost picks. Worth it.

Agree

Most teams know the Eagles will pick in the mid to late 20s for the next few years. Not sure if that will be enough.

I also saw an article and I have believe it might have been on nfl.com that while it will likely cost a first round pick for Garrett it shouldn’t cost two.. they suggest a first this year and a conditional mid rounder next year..

what has to happen is the browns need to decide if they are gonna trade him and when they might do so. They save a bunch of cap space by trading him after June 1st but wouldn’t receive any draft picks for this year.

hard to see it after a Super Bowl win, but you never know.

I don't see a way we give up as much draft capital as it takes and the $30mill+ a year extension he's going to want when we're worrying about whether we can keep some of the players that just won us a Superbowl because of cap considerations, is Garrett an upgrade on Sweat? Absolutely. Is he an upgrade on Sweat, Williams and Baun combined?  Because something's got to give if you're going to pay Garrett a market setting edge rusher salary.

Build through the draft, it's been working like a charm the last few years.

I agree. There will be numerous edge prospects on the board at pick #32 at a cap hit of $3/4M vs $30M. We can't afford that luxury.

No sure they are going to give up valuable picks for a 30 year old. They start rookies right out of the draft these days. I think they resign some key pieces, like Baun and Becton. But I think they will get creative with other signings and not give up picks for Garrett.

A couple of 1st round picks and Huff?  For Garrett?

Okay how about a 2025 1st, 3rd + 2026 1st + Bryce Huff and Tanner McKee

How would any offensive line be able to double team Carter and Garrett? I don’t know if the Eagles o-line would be able to block them. They’d be absolutely dominant.

There will be arrest warrants for Howie if this happens

The Browns seem firmly set on keeping him. Still, Where there's a Howie, there is often a way.
