February 28Feb 28 I don't see this happening. I could, however, see Howie posturing and driving up the price for Garrett to screw over Washington who has a boatload of cap space
March 1Mar 1 WIP was hyping the crap out of Garrett to the Eagles this afternoon driving home. I imagine that means it won't happen.

I think they resign some key pieces, like Baun and Becton. But I think they will get creative with other signings and not give up picks for Garrett. That's kind of my thinking. Age isn't really that different, Garrett was born in 1995, Baun in 1996. I would think Garrett has more NFL miles than Baun though. I think Baun had a lot to do with the Eagles being a #1 defense and the old wisdom still holds true, defense wins Championships. I don't know Garrett's injury history, nor Bauns.
March 1Mar 1 A friend just sent me this. Honestly depending on his contract demands I'd def be interested. And if they're willing to take Huff lol

The problem is the Cleveland doesn't really want or need to get rid of him so it ain't gonna be cheap for anybody.

My only concern w giving 2025 picks is depth. Yes we'll be loaded up front but we'll only be one injury away from production plummeting
March 3Mar 3 The browns are in a no win situation.......they need to rebuild the team with draft picks because of that disaster of a contract for Watson. Obviously no team wants to lose a player like Garrett, but they aren't competing for a championship for at least 4 years. Garrett wants out and he won't sign an extension and it could get real ugly. They're not getting multiple 1st round picks for him.....The eagles could put together a package of draft picks, and players that the Browns would be smart to take. The eagles are lining up to lose Sweat and Williams and maybe Becton to big contracts that could result in two 3rd round and one fourth round compensatory picks in 2026, which could make the impact of trading picks for Garrett more palatable.

They aren’t going to be in a position to compete whilst Garrett is still a top player. Hell he may be retired by the time they can compete. He may even be inducted to the HoF. So they do need to trade him and I’m sure he will be traded. They just don’t want to openly say it as that probably impacts his value.

Yes, at this point, they should be committed to rebuilding the team with young draft picks that can develop by the time Watson's contract fades away. Myles Garrett has been a loyal player to Cleveland but wants a real shot at a championship. Their GM should adapt that playbook and trade assets to build up the draft.

Both may be true. 1) Howie has enquired. He does his due diligence on everything in case there is a bargain to be done. 2) As Procus says - it’s to drive up the price. Eagles don’t care how much Cleveland get. They are not a threat. Washington and Detroit are. Make them offer 3 firsts. But the reality is we can’t afford him. Extension or no extension. Eagles already have an elite team and plenty of young players to extend. Garrett would be great. But it doesn’t make sense.
March 5Mar 5 It would be like having Saquon Barkley- on defense. They would probably ask too much, but if anyone could pull it off, it would be The Wizard. Having said that, I don't they the Eagles will bite on this one.

March 9Mar 9 So much for this fantasy. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl/article/myles-garrett-browns-reportedly-agree-on-contract-extension-to-make-him-highest-paid-non-qb-in-nfl-history-160000830.html Myles Garrett, Browns reportedly agree on contract extension to make him highest-paid non-QB in NFL history New deal comes after Garrett requested trade and Browns owner Jimmy Haslem reportedly refused to meet him All is well again between Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns. The two sides have agreed on a contract extension that will pay the defensive end an average annual salary of $40 million and includes $123.5 million in guaranteed money, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
March 9Mar 9 This deal was never going to happen for the Eagles. Would have cost way too much. Looking at the Garrett contract, and the Watson one that is still on the books, this feels like financial sabotage by the Browns. They really are determined to be the butt of the NFL forever

Was nice to dream but def too many hoops to jump thru to make this happen. And yes, Cleveland will continue to Cleveland
