CBS already pulled the game from the 4:25pm national slot but I think this shapes up as an interesting game. Cincinnati urgently needs to win at home, but the Eagles are beginning to round into form and will certainly pound the ball again and the defensive front can get after Burrow.

Eagles are 3-3 ATS while the Bengals are 4-3.  Cincinnati has won and covered 3 of their last 4 games while the Eagles are 2-2 ATS in their last 4.

Line: Bengals -2.5
Total: 47.5
Moneyline: Bengals -145/Eagles +120

Bengals always seem to give the Eagles a hard time.  Team has a terrible record against that franchise.  The Eagles haven't beaten the Bengals since 2000

I know it’s a road game and I know Cincinnati have rallied a bit recently but I’m still a little surprised to see us as underdogs in this one. Especially given we were favourites to beat the Giants and heavy favourites to beat the Browns.

Still… Yet another road game, a game we need to win with some of the games we have coming up but I think it’ll be a loss. So many road games early in the year I think it’ll take its toll on us.

Line is probably about right for one that looks tough to call, with Bengals passing offense being better in Cincinatti while their defense has turned into a raging dumpster fire.

I'd take us to win given the performances against common opponents, but that's based on our defensive improvement the last couple of games continuing.

Bengals are a much better team than the Giants or Browns. They had a stinker against the Pats, but without Chase or Higgins. They should have beaten the Ravens (missed a late field goal) and almost knocked off the Chiefs. They could easily be 5-2.

They had a full strength offense against the Giants and Cleveland and put up less points than we did. Their record isn't that out of kilter.

The Browns and Giants are 2 of the worst teams in the league along with the Cheaters Panthers and Raiders.  A much better test for our D

And if you want to take a trip down memory lane, Cincinnati is where Donovan McNabb, a 10 year veteran at the time, admitted to not knowing the basic rules of overtime, allowing an important game to end in a tie:

"I didn’t know that,” said McNabb. "I’ve never been part of a tie. I never even knew it was in the rulebook. I was looking forward to getting the opportunity to get out there and try to drive to win the game. But unfortunately, with the rules, we settled with a tie.”

Strangely we are 0-3-2 against them since then (2 ties ... 2008 and 2020).

I hate when people say that.  That could apply to most teams (and could go in either direction).

That tie wounding up being just enough for the Eagles to back into the playoffs and make a run all the way to the NFCCG in Arizona.  If it was played at the Linc, Birds would have won easily.

Another trip down memory lane - in the movie Invincible, during the dying dog days of Mike McCormack that preceding the hiring of Dick Vermeil, there was a team blowing out the Birds at the Vet pitching a shutout and the crowd was not so happy.  That team was the Bengals.

They didn’t exactly blow the Browns away did they… And look neither did we but still the Bengals are a decent team but if we want to work back towards being a legit contender then we need to beat teams like the Bengals.

Just have the hope the offense can continue humming and they can run the ball and control the time of possession against the Bengals. Limit Burrow's opportunities, because he will put up points.

This game has the makings of a shoot-out. Really will come down to whether the pass rush can get there or not.

It does and that’s absolutely the worry… But they didn’t look so hot against Cleveland so hopefully our defense can rise to the occasion.

Okay I hear you, you are what your record says. But I guess my point is that a lot of people are thinking the Bengals should be a win because they have a losing record, when they have been playing pretty well since they’ve got Chase and Higgins back and Burrow is obviously elite.

With OUR team I never take ANY other team for granted as a W.

This game is coming down to whichever set of lines plays better. Could go either way, should be exciting. Looking forward to it

Best of Meme

I’m betting the farm (IOW) $500 on the eagles to cover this is a no brainer.

You guys are so scared. You guys disgust me

To cover? I think it’s quite easy for us to lose by 3 in this one even in a really close game that comes down to the end.

I don't trust the Eagles. They beat on 2 of the WORSE offensive teams in the league the last 2 games, and a LOT of fans got all giddy over it. They haven't done crap to gain my trust. Just stating the facts, so save the hate. Until they go on a roll and prove they are winners who can beat good teams, I don't trust them. They will probably play to a tie, like they have the last 2 out of 4 times they met. 😂

Think we lose this by a couple of scores.

It was kinda refreshing to blow out NYG, very little to no stressing during the game. Can't really remember the last time we had it like that. Maybe against NYG in the divisional playoff game?

Don't think we ever won in Cincinnati.

Tee Higgins may be out Sunday, if he's not, no way he'll be anywhere close 100% with a quad injury.

The 2004 game we didn't try as we clinched the 1 seed already and were resting people since Terrell Owens got hurt.

The 49er playoff game was like that too. We injured their QBs.
