November 3, 20241 yr I would love to see a Defensive lineman, either DT or DE. Linebacker is a little thin in my opinion as well.
November 3, 20241 yr Every year we state what we think are needs at the trade deadline. Howie's trades at the deadline are never good! Ajayi was earlier in the season and rumors were that was in the works for a while, since he was not happy in Miami. Golden Tate was ok but a half season rental. All the others sucked and were pointless wastes of draft picks. Keep the picks.

I would argue that the Tate trade was actually bad because he was a slot WR and we already had 3 WRs on the team that were only useful in the slot and were missing an outside WR with field-stretching qualities. When Tate got here, the offense never looked in sync.
November 4, 20241 yr I would prefer not to give up major assets for any mid season pickup for some rental player who comes here and never fits in and there are far too many examples of this to mention.

Wide receiver is a position of need for Washington (Noah Brown and Olamide Zecchaus are their #2 and #3 WRs), and they let Dotson go. They saw him every day for the last two seasons and they obviously did not think he can play. Combine that with his lack of production this season, and I think it is safe to put Dotson at about the Jalen Reagor level of WR. I hear ya, but Dotson was already more productive than Reagor ever was. Why Washington let him go is definitely a fair question...could have been seen as not a culture fit or some other type of issue like practice habits, etc. He made a hell of a catch yesterday, though. Hopefully they start involving him more.
November 4, 20241 yr Howie has already traded 6 picks in the 2025 draft for players: 2023 trade for D'Andre Swift: 4th round Pickett: two 7th round picks (plus the 2024 pick). They had four 7th round picks at the time, and the two highest will go to Pittsburgh Dotson: 3rd round + the last two 7th rounders they had, plus got the Commanders 5th round pick And a 2025 6th round pick for the great Albert O and a 7th. He also traded back and collected some 2025 picks https://www.phillyvoice.com/philadelphia-eagles-2025-draft-picks-future/ Current draft picks (article was from Aug 2024): You don't want to trade any of these away for some bum like Quinn or Avery that won't even play. If he's going to trade any of these, use them to trade up on draft weekend. He's actually improved at the draft. He likes to have draft assets to move up. If another situation happens like DeJean where a guy falls, you want the assets to trade up and get him.
