Eric Allen should get in

He should have been in years ago. I remember the year Aeneas Williams got in being pissed. Allen was better than Williams.

Both have the numbers but neither were very widely known.

weren't widely known? Are you sure about that? EA played not only on one of the greatest defenses in Eagles history, but all one of the greatest defenses in league history. He was a total shutdown corner and we haven't seen anyone like him here since. Maybe Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent, maybe Asante Samuel, but I would still take EA in his prime over those guys.

And Watters was an even bigger name because he played for the Niners at a time when they were unstoppable. The whole town went crazy when we acquired Watters.

Eric Allen will get in. Took Harold 36 years and a lot of complaining from me, but he finally got in. Keep the faith.

Allen is more deserving and should get in before Watters IMO.  Hopefully the 5th time is the charm!

Agreed.  As for Ricky Watters getting into the  HoF…For who? For what?

Yeah, if Watters gets in, great for him and notch one more ex-Eagle into the hall. If he doesn't get in, I wouldn't think of it as an 'injustice'. Allen not getting in so far, IS an injustice.

I missed it when it was announced at the tail end of last year, but Eric Allen is now a Finalist. This HAS to be his year!

If Eric Allen doesn't get it, it's all a sham.

Allen also has 275 more career tackles than Deion Sanders.

I don’t even understand why it’s taken this long for Eric Allen to get in. It’s a shame Ricky Watters is just so unlikeable otherwise he should be in too.

Funny stat i saw the other day he has deion beat or very close in all categories except forced fumbles deion has more. Which i find funny considering Allen has 200 something more tackles and has 3 sacks to Deions 0

1991 wasn't a great season to think back on because of what happened in the first game of the season (Bryce Paup), but if you think back to that Defense, it was a thing of beauty. But that can just make it worse, because with Randall healthy and that Defense, we win the Super Bowl that season.

For those fans too young to remember that defense, you don't know what you missed! Buddy was gone, but it was his master piece even though Bud Carson was at the helm at the time.

Deion was also a dynamic punt returner, which shouldn't be overlooked.  I believe Allen was the better all-around CB, though.

I was 16 in '91 and went to a couple of those games.  That defense was lights out.  That team really could have done some serious damage if Randall hadn't gone down.

I have a feeling that if we win on Sunday, he's a lock to get in. Even if the worst thing happened, I still think he gets in. But 100% if we win Sunday. The voters would have the Eagles at the top of their minds, which would (I think), favor Eric Allen's chances.

It's my belief/hope that the Eagles being in the Super Bowl will be the final straw toward Eric Allen finally getting the nod.
