The franchise's all-time regular season won-loss record is currently at 639-639-27.  0.500 Baby!!!

Up to this point we had been at .500 only once in our franchise' history.  During our first season in 1933, we started 0-3 before climbing back to 3-3-1.  We proceeded to lose 9 of our next 11 games.

At our worst, we were 96 games under .500 during the 1977, 1978, 1987 and 1988 seasons.

Definitely doable, but with the possibility of a slip up, or resting starters if we have nothing to gain week 18, might be tough to climb above this season in the time left. Hopefully, in 2025, we can be climbing well above .500.

Does that include postseason games too or just regular season?

Regular season.

We are 25-26 all-time in the playoffs.

Need to fix that record this postseason. Another 3 or 4 in the W colum would be great...depending on the seeding

3 games below 500.

That’s kind of crazy to think overall we have a below .500 record. Is that the case for most teams in the NFL?

We have been one of the most consistent winning teams in the NFL for a good 25 years now.

Yes, but for many decades in the 30's to 70's, they were really bad overall.

Based on my count, it's 17 teams over 500, and 15 under, which kind of makes sense. If one team wins, and one loses, with occasional ties mixed in, then the overall number would seem to logically be around 500. I just did a quick glance, but it looks like the Chargers are only 2 games under, and we are now 3 under, though it hasn't updated us yet.

I still find it crazy too. I'm mean, I know they went on a long stretch in the 50-s through the 70's of pretty much being a horrible with a few winning seasons sprinkled in there, but I feel like that reversed itself in the late '80's when Buddy Ryan became our coach. Every coach has had at least one losing season but, at least in my head, we've had more winning seasons than losing seasons in the last 35 or so years. I could be wrong though.

If I did my quick count correctly, we're like 25-12-3 in the last 40 seasons

Yep, the Kelly Green years were kinda atrocious.

They were. I’m in the minority, and I get why many are infatuated with the KG, but most of my time as a fan has been in Midnight Green, and I’ve seen a lot of success in MG. It’s made me biased towards the current colors.

I have a tattoo of that so I’m biased towards that too. 😂

Win out in the regular season and we will be 1 game over 500

Even if we don’t lose this week, I could see a rest game in the final two if we can’t get the one seed. It would suck. I don’t wanna give up a cheap win to Dallas or the Giants.

Perfect year to sweep Dallas. Last time was 2014 I believe

2011, but yes, I want to sweep them in the worst way. And the Giants haven’t won here since 2013. I hate to break that streak. Although, by then the Giants may just be ready to get home and mail it in. Maybe Pickett can beat them with Anias Smith and Johnny Wilson. Let Shipley get his feet wet in the NFL.

We did win most of our franchise Championships in Kelly Green. 1948, 49 and 1960 (which most of us weren't around for but maybe some of us were).

Winning percentage by 'era'.

1933 to 1996 (Kelly Green era with the first 2 in those blue/yellows): .445 with 3 NFL Championships and one Super Bowl loss
1985-1996 (Current KG Throwback type era): .549 no Super Bowl appearances
1996 to 2022 (Midnight Green pre-KG Throwback era): .555 with two Super Bowl losses and one Super Bowl win
2023-Present .733 and counting

Of course, the colors of the uniforms don't dictate success or failure.

To me, if I had the power, we'd wear the 1980 Jaws/Wilbert/Harold era Kelly Greens. But ONLY if they got the sleeve stripes 100% correct, which they wouldn't. So the Reggie/Jerome/Buddy era Kelly Greens are my next best choice. I still wish they looked more like they originally did, though. But maybe they're exactly the same and it's the broadcast technology that makes them look a bit different.

I just think that the old Kelly Greens with Silver pants look better than Midnight Green with White pants but win me more Super Bowls and I don't care what the uniforms look like... well, I do care but I won't complain.

These are the teams that we are well under .500 against.

image.png.6be53e09911677f891389c1f8d2473fa.png

The Packers and Bears ran up wins right from the start.  We were 1-14 all-time against the Packers before we beat them in the 1960 Championship.  We were 2-18-1 all-time against the Bears before we beat them in a 1979 playoff game.

The Browns abused us in the 50's and 60's, when we played them twice a year.

We were actually 10-4 against the Cowboys after our first 14 games.  We then went 6-31 from 1967-1986.

2011

They swept us in 2012, 2018, and 2021.  Every other year in that time frame we split.
