Do Minnesota hold the tie break over us too? Because one of them or Detroit are going to lose again (or potentially tie).

It is both. Basically if neither Minnesota or the Lions lose another game until their end head to head we can’t get the one seed, but if the Lions lose one game we are the one seed. The Vikings beating the Lions would give them the nod so we need the Lions to lose once more.

The Lions hold conference record tiebreaker over the Eagles because the Eagles losses are to the Falcons and Bucs, both NFC teams. The Lions lost to the Bills in the AFC.

If the Vikings win out, the Vikings will clinch tiebreaker over the Eagles by strength of victory because they wlll play Bears (tonight), Seahawks, Packers, and Lions-teams jockeying for playoffs with winning records. While the Eagles play Commanders, Cowboys, and Giants. Actually the Eagles hold SOV over Vikings as it stands today but it would flip in the coming weeks.

So we need both the Lions and Vikings to each lose another game. The saving grace is Vikings and Lions play each other Week #18. One will knock the other out of the division race. And their schedules are tougher.

At this point with all of their injuries I’m almost starting to think facing Detroit might be better?

The more I think about it, the more I think the 1 seed is unrealistic, I really think we need the Lions to lose to either the Bears or the Niners. Neither is likely as they both look done and not interested.

If the Vikings win both their games then the winner of their last game gets the 1 I think? If the Vikes drop 1 on the way then I believe the Lions will have the division locked up and therefore Vikings rest players.

The 1 and 2 seed are most certainly going to the winners of the NFCN and NFCE (current leaders of both the NFCS and NFCW are 4 games behind with only 3 to play).  So first things first ... need to beat Washington this weekend to ensure we lock in to the 2 seed at worst.

Yeah. I believe the Lions hold the common games tiebreaker over the Vikings. If the Vikings lose one of their remaining games to the Seahawks or Packers, it is an opponent the Lions already beat (They swept the Packers). The Vikings only path to win the division is to finish ahead in the standings.

But the Lions can lose once to either Bears or Niners. Then they are still playing the Vikings in Week #18 for the season sweep and division crown. We would be rooting for the Lions so the Eagles can finish one game up in the standings for #1 seed.

If both the Lions and Vikings win their games Week #16 and Week #17, then their matchup in Week #18 is for the NFC North and #1 seed. It won't matter if the Eagles win out. The Eagles clinch #2 seed and likely rest players against the Giants.

Nicely summarized.  Thanks!

With the avalanche of defensive injuries for lions I wouldn’t be surprised if they went one and done as a 1 or 5.

And now they lost Montgomery for at least the rest of the regular season

The Lions do keep picking up injuries though so there’s that? But yeah I mean I do think unfortunately it is unlikely at this point and so maybe they decide week 18 is their bye week.

If both the Eagles and Vikings win out, the Eagles can still clinch the Strength of Victory tiebreaker. But it’s a long shot.

Man that’s complex! But what I’m getting is we need the Giants to win games 🤢

Yeah I think the reality is we aren’t going to get the #1 seed!

Our best hope for the one seed is probably going to be next week...when Minny plays GB and the Lions play SF.  Hopefully the both get a loss.  Though Minny does play Seattle this week (in Seattle) so it's not out of the realm of possibility for Minny to lose this week.  Can't see the Lions losing to Chicago, though..but ya never know!

Of course, the Eagles need to take care of business first and foremost.

Not at all.  That is going to be a tough game to go into Seattle and try to get a W, especially after Seattle lost last week to GB which dropped them out of a playoff seed (they are now 8th with LA having taken the lead in the division and grabbing that 4th seed ATM).  Seattle is fighting for their playoff lives ... hopefully they take care of business and knock off Minnesota.

True!  But Seattle does not look inspiring lately.  Hopefully they get their ish together just for this week, lol.

I think the game is in Seattle? Mind you they were on Seattle to face Green Bay and that didn’t go so well for them.

But does this help us much? If the Lions take care of the Bears and 49ers then I believe a Seahawks loss would mean the division was done and the Vikings would presumably rest starters against the Lions.

Well, we need both Minny and Detroit to lose a game (assuming we win out).  I'll take a loss by either of them no matter which week it happens.

If Minny loses this week but Detroit wins their next 2, then yeah, it's over.  But Detroit could drop the SF game too

I think at this point we need both Minnesota and Detroit to lose 1 of their next 2. If we win both of ours we’d go in to that final game in possession of the #1 seed. We’d then likely play our starters early to get ahead and then shut them down knowing we’d have a bye the week after.

If Minnesota and Detroit both win their next 2 games then I’d say at that point we’d have a very difficult decision week 18.

I was only commenting on Seattle being a tough game for the Vikings this weekend (not on whether or not it helps us).  But ... if the Vikings lose (they would then have 3 losses) and they beat the Lions in the finale (Detroit would then also have 3 losses) we could get the 1 seed if we win out.  A lot of ifs but not impossible.

If we win this game and they lose that game and we all win the last game and the first after that then what?
