Yup. In the pediatric world if the kid is admitted and the meds are available the hospital will a lot of times just eat the cost for denied meds or denied hospital stays, instead of kicking them out or withholding treatment.  We had 1 kid who cost the hospital about $3 million because they insisted she only needed rehab care, but she was so sick no rehab center would take her. United was notorious for pulling that crap and they knew there was nothing we would do. One of the hospitalists used to call it "weaponized altruism".

I was flipping through the channels last night and on Newsnation the reporter was live outside and the jimmies were yelling. Turns out they were watching it on tv so the host just started asking them questions and they would all yell out the answers.
