Nonexistent resistance to fraud And medicare has advantages that other insurers don't in regards to fraud, like medical providers that have committed fraud can be permanently banned from every getting paid by medicare. The dept of HHS even publishes the list of doctors online. Private insurance companies have to fight it at a much finer level, depending on the state laws in which the treatment was provided or covered. In PA, you had to argue each line on a bill independently. Like if you could prove that a doctor was billing for treatment he never provided, you could deny those specific charges from that date but could not consider the fact that you know that doctor is a fraud in regards in any additional billing from that doctor. You had to prove fraud on every procedure for every date of service billed independently, in other words, it's impossible.

The following changes would make more sense 3. Make truly exceptional care available only to those who can afford it and be honest -- this is a capitalist country. Most people won't get expensive cancer treatments. Problem with 3 is it will kill all r&d on such therapies. and if we facing reality, cancer isnt all that exceptional anymore

Make insurance pay for only the truly exceptional needs (like cancer treatments), and leave the basics for people to pay out of pocket.

December 5, 2024Dec 5 This has got to be one of the most bizarre stories I've ever seen. Also, this killer was clearly a trained assassin who seemed to easily fade into obscurity after the deed was done. I'd know too because I've watched a ton of spy movies over the years.

December 5, 2024Dec 5 Author If you had a medical problem would you rather have: A. The medical treatment plan that is best for you according to your doctor. B. The medical treatment plan that is best for your insurance plan. For me I would rather my medical care be directed by my physician and not by some pencil pusher.
