personally I don’t care if they are buddies and get along off the field or outside of the walls of Novacare.  They’re coworkers and working to achieve a common goal.  Suck it up and do your part.  There are both  getting paid handsomely either way.  Wins are all that matters.

And honestly until the Carolina game I do think that’s what they were doing. For some reason the whole mood and dynamic seemed to change in the Carolina game. We won but the players weren’t happy. Hurts through a TD pass but AJ didn’t celebrate it.

AJ was always a DIVA. And Hurts is struggling. This was bound to happen. Just like last season, when the team was sliding down, on the sidelines, when AJ was yelling at Hurts and it was video taped. Deja Vu.

And that’s honestly my worry. Whether they get on or not I don’t care really. It’s sad for them if they have fallen out but I don’t care. Just put that asides and do what’s right for the team. Win.

That’s a culture thing and what Nick is supposed to be so good at.  He needs to shut this crap down.  It seems they win despite all of Nicks amazing coaching and culture not because of it.

1. Its year 5.   Do you expect hurts to magically get better in the passing game?

2  How  would you feel knowing you're stuck on a  team that has a QB locked up long term that can barely manage 100 yard passing games and refuses to throw to you when you're open?

It was my understanding that Brown came here in part because he knew Hurts

We’ve definitely seen better from Hurts as a passer previously.  I think there are 2 reasons why the passing game is so weak now:

1) Barkley is killing it in the running game (which has led to a lot of success so why fix what isn’t broke)

2) There was a lot of criticism directed against Hurts when he was turning the ball over so that was part of the process to minimize the INTs by going more run heavy.

I agree and disagree to an extent. What Barkley is doing this season completely justifies the called pass plays being down, and going to a more run heavy offense. The issue more lies with how efficient Jalen is with the passes that are called. He’s not seeing the field well and is overcorrecting for his earlier turnovers and is seemingly playing afraid. The solution to one extreme should never be the opposite extreme. In addition, Hurts’ game is being hurt by the decision making of taking stupid sacks, or taking designed runs immediately into the teeth of the defense for minimal gains. It’s just wasting downs.

They were/are best friends.  I think Hurts is AJ’s kid’s Godfather.

I mean look this is where Nick has a real opportunity to get this back on track so let’s see.

See it’s not actually a direct correlation between Barkley and the pass game. Look at Detroit and Baltimore. Both are rushing for similar yards on the year to us. Detroit actually have run the ball more total times and Baltimore are not far behind us. As you say the problem is what Hurts is doing on those dialled up pass plays. He’s missing guys and he’s taking stupid sacks. Erase some of those and this passing offense would be more potent and we’d probably have won games by an even greater margin.

He can’t play scared. We could have had 6 on the opening play. Like I said, the answer to one extreme, is never the opposite extreme. He needed to cut down on his turnovers, but it was never an expectation that he’d never turn the ball over ever again. He’s got to let it rip. He’s actually pretty accurate on deep passes often times. He’s gotta trust himself again.

Brown's initial answer about needing to be able to pass the ball better is 100% correct.  It's ashame that BG took the bait of how that was perceived by the media and blew up something that didn't need to be...at least publicly.  I'm sure Brown isn't happy with how the passing game looks....nobody should be happy with it.

There's a saying that I 100% agree with: What you wouldn't accept in a loss you should not accept in a win.  Simple as that.  If the Eagles lost that game and the passing offense looking like it did (and has been looking), there would be focus on how poorly the passing game has been working.

I think that opening drive one looks worse than it is. I think AJ is covered but at the last second Horn comes off AJ to pick up Smitty but by then Hurts can’t see AJ. I’m not saying it’s not Hurts fault at all on that play but I think from the aerial view it looks worse.

A competent QB should make that throw.

If we win the SB, none of this matters. If we lose early in the playoffs, I want Jaylen gone asap for someone that can run an offense.

I definitely do not disagree with any of that.  I think the game plan to go run heavy was to minimize the opportunities for Jalen to turn the ball over (at least via INTs) and they overcorrected there.  But the running game was working so well they just kind of stuck with it and made it our identity.  But yeah for sure he is missing open receivers (someone posted 2 separate photos of Brown WIDE open near the goal line in the Carolina game that would have been easy scores but Jalen didn't see him).  That last part is frustrating for us (and I'm sure the source of Brown's frustration as well).

I wish I could give more than 1 like to this post ... there were several comments that were spot on.

Regarding the bolded ... thank goodness Legette dropped that pass!!

Better passing than Jalen Hurts, apparently.

...Okay sorry that one was way too much of a low hanging fruit to take LOL.

Just because you have a mouth to open doesn't mean you need to use it. Just admit you don't like Nick rather than coming up with excuses to pretend you're being objective about it. Because this insistence that Nicks record has nothing to do with his own record even though he's had three coordinators on both sides of the ball in three years is actual insanity.

It's like people are just holding their pitchforks waiting for anything to go wrong to insist Nick should be fired yet again even now. We get it, a lot of you people here are stubborn and beyond convincing. Can you just say that so you can be ignored and we all move on? Thanks.

You are correct, but he knows this media and fan base pretty well. If you don't want controversy, guard your words. I saw Smith make comments after the game and he later clarified he was talking about himself. Has Brown made any clarification or it just one of those things where, "I said what I said." ?

As far as I know, Jalen and AJ are friends. It appears that Brown is frustrated and this isn't the first time that's happened as an Eagle. The last time was supposedly about targets. So it's reasonable to think that it's the same thing again. The difference is we have a legit MVP candidate in Barkley that is eating up potential pass targets and the success around his touches doesn't really provide reason to limit those and feed AJ more. Everybody, especially the captains of the team, should be on board with winning.

So annoying this got leaked out and now will be the downfall of the team.

I actually wanted to nick fired as if a few weeks ago but he’s changed my mind.  What I’m saying though is that IF he can’t get this recent issue fixed immediately then everything that every doubter has said about him is true.  They win despite of him.

I haven’t paid attention today to know if AJ has said anything.  Guarding words is something no philly athlete has ever truly mastered including Jalen who says nothing but quotes from a poster in a 6th graders bedroom.

I have been an AJ fan for a long time going back to Titans days so what I’m seeing now is the same as what he displayed back then.  Except back then he had Mariota and  ryan tannehill throwing to him.  While he had a couple 1000y seasons, he seems to forget he had a losing record, never made playoffs, let alone a SB.  In come derrick henry and takes over and the titans become a running team.  He pouts and works his way out and He comes here, literally sets franchise records in 2 straight seasons, while having no issues with Jalen.  Then we get Barkley and suddenly he has a problem.

his problem is not with Jalen.  His problem is with himself and his own conscience.  He needs a reality check because either he gets along and wins a SB here or he could be playing with daniel jones in Las Vegas next year for all he knows.

all that to say, I don’t think his issue is with Jalen so much as it is with the lack of his usage and inability to put his ego aside.  It’s mirroring titans days.  And it’s not up to Jalen to fix.  This is a moore problem.  Use all your weapons or you won’t have them for long.
